Forums - Gaming - NINTENDO WIIU IS DOOMED HUH?

I guess he is saying that Nintendo announcing games that were expected, 1 or 2 remakes from games that did not sell originally, games that did not sell the gamecube or Wii and still no solid releases for anything means the Wii U is no longer doomed.

Well to be completely fair, it shows how much sillier the doomcalling is, knowing full well that a new 3D Mario, Mario Kart and a new 3D Zelda will be released mid-cycle. Games that sell more than the PS3's top 10 (ignoring the 3rd party CoD).

It wasn't that good...

Nintendo Direct! No one ever expected Mario, Mario Kart, and Zelda games would be in the works! BUT THEY ARE!

I don't think anybody expected Shin Megami Tensei vs Fire Emblem.

Or Zelda: Wind Waker remake.

Or new Yoshi title blending classic Yoshi style with Epic Yarn style.

Or for the new Monolith Soft title to actually be shown with video, etc.

But most importantly, think about this: This is just for JANUARY's Nintendo Direct. There'll be at least three more before E3, and these are the announcements that they didn't feel were worth holding onto until E3. Now think about what they ARE keeping quiet for E3.

If it makes you feel better WiiU is 1st place and in worst case scenario will be 1st place for another year while 3720/PS4 close the gap.

So really, WiiU will be 1st place from Nov. 2012, to November 2014.

Enjoy your 2 year victory!

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Eh, Skyward Sword didn't sell that great and it sounds like the next proper Zelda is a long, long ways out.

3D Mario generally sells less than 2D Mario.

Mario Kart will help.

Nintendo seems allergic to new franchises though.

Are we talking about unexpected software, or software that can "undoom" the Wii U? Because those are not exactly system sellers.

(Except for X. Holy hell!)

But since they basically said, "Wait until E3 for Mario Kart, etc." then we pretty much know what to expect there.

No surprises really, but it was nice to see the announcements. Let's see how things go over the course of the year.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Hmm nothing that convinced me. Yeah i'm sure they are great for what they are but it's still the normal game series they always release. That being said Monolith Soft new game could be cool.

1) I was referring to TP, which this new Zelda is probably going to resemble visually.

2) It still sells more than most PS exclusives and that was my point.

3) Mario Kart is not help, it's pure doom antidote. 33 million sold on the Wii, doomsayers shut up instantly.

4) Yeah, I agree. But it's besides the point and the New Monolith game should help with that.

That's still two years mircosoft will never have in first place, only Sony will ever match Nintendo system sales.
