Europe probably since they are selling there at all.
Europe probably since they are selling there at all.
A price cut at this time will not have a big effect. First they need the games, than they can cut the price.
Same goes for the Vita.
yeah, even if it has a price cut I'd not buy it yet, it first needs to fix the random crashes, the slow menu transition, add an account system for the games I buy online and obviously more games
Castlevania Judgment FC: 1161 - 3389 - 1512
3DS Friend Code: 3480-2746-6289
Wii Friend Code: 4268-9719-1932-3069
This could be a retailer cutting their own profits simply to free floor space in the warehouse since the Wii U isn't selling at all in Europe.
Nintendo needs to bundle games or cut the price to start moving more unites. The fact the 360 & PS3 continue to sell circles around the Wii U should be very concerning. Will the Wii U be the Dreamcast or the 360 of the generation it's two early to tell, but things could get hairy fast.
I think Nintendo needs to understand that people don't care about value. They only care about entry-point price. $300 is too much for a Nintendo console.
No price cut needed.Compared to vita the sales are slightly better in Japan and USA but worser in Europe.
IMO:If Wii U sales don't increase until GTA5 it would be extremly hard for Wii U to recover.
There are strong competitors to be released on last gen this year and Nintendo has nothing to really compete with Bioshock,The last of us,Beyond etc,and as soon as GTA5 is released it may blow every thing away=ps360 sales will increase the next 4-8 weeks after release, people who wanted to buy wii u because of lego or pikmin may switch to ps360,Wii U will get almost no attention and this will last until summer.Summer sales are low anyway and as summer ends we will
see commercials for ps460,and than wii u games may compete with GT6,Halo5,Gow4,UC4 and killzone.
As many nintendo core gamers have moved over to ps360(or will when gta5 is released) and many of the few remaining core gamers already own the wii u and the casual gamer is a bitch who is not willing to pay 300 for a gaming system, nintendo has to do something. As the 3ds sales are good they can use the money to cover wii u losses.
I hope wii u will recover and 3ds sales will drop (because of the vita)as we need competition to keep msonyntendo making good games for handheld and consoles.
The Basic model had a price cut coming written all over it when it debuted at$299 when a vastly superior model was bundled wth a game at $249. Brand is a power thing and Wii firmly burned into people's minds that it is cheap fun. Here, I feel Nintendo disrespected the Nintendo moms. Kids ask for Wii U, grab the lower priced one, but it isnt cheaper.
Nintendo tried to upsell as HD but was really using bargain components. Here I feel Nintendo disrespected the hardcore buyers. Yes, your Camry may have more torque and horse power than our old BMW and MB, but it's still a camry and once the new HD Twins came out, Wii U would look just as disperate as Wii looked in comparison.
Now was it a good business strategy? I partially agree that it has potential to be profitable. But then where is the marketing and more importantly where are the games? Iwata said he learned a lesson from 3DS that they deferred too much to 3rd parties and needed to come out strong with their own franchises. Where are the four horsemen for Wii U?
| CGI-Quality said: As I said, the WiiU is about to crank up the success meter! It will be the highest selling home console this year. |
yup. its quiet in the jungle at the moment. not for long.
*I suspect they just waiting on what the other two have.
