My cousin had one for about six months until he was robbed at gunpoint for it. Living in the hood sucks by the way...

I did knew about the console because my cousin owned it. Till this day he's the only one I know that had the system during that time. Every kid in my school owned a PS2, with some few (myself included) who owned the GC.
Nintendo and PC gamer

Aside from pretty much all Sega hardware, the original Xbox was really the only game console I ever didn't want. To this day, aside from Halo, possibly one or two others, that systems' library just always seemed so "meh" to me.
PS2 had all the great third-party games and JRPGs, GameCube had all the great Nintendo sequels I wanted. Xbox was just in limbo to me. Totally indifferent to it the entire time it was on the market.

Yes I know...But gameswise I hardly knew anything..It is when I got an xbox in 2004 that I found out it had an lot of exclusives that I did not hear of.. to name some.
I was waiting for so long for a Dino crisis 3 and then I saw that game in stores and was like 'WTF'.. why nobody told me?
Come on, when I pick up this game people still are shocked to see it got an sequel (that was kind of good)..
This one I knew and it is hoping the next one will release this year...
Remake of one of the best N64 games!
You collect all those awesome PS2 SMT games and then you find out that Xbox also got one o_o!!
One of the games I got an xbox for ^^'
Also one that I did not knew and was very happy with :).

And so many more;..
I owned one and still own it. It is resting now though. Awesome beast of a console. The thing had as much hard drive as base Wii U.
It was one of those consoles that was almost a novelty to see for the kids in my school. The systems came out when I was in middle school, so the console popularity went gamecube>>>>>>>PS2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>xbox.
There was only two kids in my school who owned one, both because their fathers were gamers. The only games I remember playing where Halo And Jet Set Radio Future. Both were a lot of fun, but there was no way my parents would let me own an M rated game so I was never interested in getting one if I could only get 1 of those games. Honestly I don't think any kids who weren't friends with those two knew the console existed. Among the young generation the system's awareness was basically none existant.
It's crazy how things have changed since then... I work at a summer camp, and since 2009 all the little middle school kids ever talked about was playing Call of Duty on their 360s, though even that has died down recently. This past summer it was all about the smartphone games.
Yeah I knew about it. In fact, I almost bought that instead of a PS2.
Yes, I only knew about it because my cousin had Halo 1 and 2. He had Fable also but I never played that. The only console that I thought had existed at the time was the N64. lol

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thought Toe Jam and Earl 3 was a decent game. It was a big reason I bought my Xbox, that and the promise of "Project Ego" (Fable's codename.) Jurassic Park Operation Genesis was a GREAT game as well, I'ld love to see a sequel.
the original xbox may have been better then 360. Brute Force was an awesome game.
