It already had a huge price cut.
Now it just needs a 128 GB memory card, less port/remake, more unique games that people want and need.

No it did not.

Obviously, I'm talking about Europe, since it's where I live and however it's a place where Sony is much loved.

Do you want a Vita + 4GB memory card + ACIII or Fifa 13 or COD for € 199?

That's the highest price I found. So you can have it for way less.

I don't care about "offial prices", it had a huge price cut. That's € 120 less than ten months ago (when that package [different game, of course] would have been € 320). And, as I told you, you can have it for way less than that. I'm talking new, of course.

- € 120 = huge price cut. :)

It was 150, new, with a game on Amazon some days ago. lol @ no price cut.

There is no official price cut. There would have been some sort of announcement.

Wifi Only at Amazon = 198
With game its 217....

You were saying?

From new years I would have had all PSVita's would come with 12GB internal memory but the price of the system will remain the same and memory card prices will drop by %20.

The real issue I think is games. I would have began to tackle this by planning for Ni No Kuni to launch on Vita this Jan. Followed up by a WW launch of Soul Sacrifice this march. I would have given square enix a huge amount of money to do the following; release Kingdom Hearts HD on the Vita in Japan this march, Have a HD port of Type 0 ready by april for release here and re-release in japan and have DQX ported to Vita. Have Lufe as a DLC character of Battle Royale but include him in the launch rooster for the japanese release which I think still hasn't been announced. Work with epic to create Unreal Tournament Vita for the summer. Create a team to Remake/port Morrowind for the Vita for fall 2013 or Q1 2014. Have Bend studio's work on Jax IV instead of uncharted, It will have multiplayer. I'd buy the Digimon franchise and reboot it with the style of animation from series 3 and it will be developed by the Gravity rush team. Grand Turismo Vita for the years end, as a rockstar leeds developed GTA game for spring 2014.

Essentially if I owned Sony the Vita's line up would look like this.

Q1: Ni No Kuni, Sly Cooper 4, Kingdom hearts HD, Soul Sacrifice, Phantasy Star Online 2

Q2: FF Type 0, Tear Away, Unreal tournament Vita, DQX, Sell the Vita

Q3 : Sell the Vita at $99 with a 19$ contact which comes with PS+, Borderlands Vita (instead of Killzone), Pupetteer (cross buy), Jak and Daxter IV, PS2 classics+ Gamepad Pro attachment which adds 2 trigger buttons, a more traditional dual shock structure and Wii U quality streaming functionality with ps4.

Q4:Grand Turismo Vita, FFX HD, Morrowind, COD stand alone multiplayer ($30)

2014: GTA, Digimon V, Okami 2, Gaikai PS3 game streaming

This is a horrible idea. Is Gamepad Pro really selling for 3DS? If you really want the two triggers, tapping the sensor in the back on the right or left can easily do for these two buttons. No ridiculous prorietary piece of junk that wouldn't sell is needed. When they port PS2 classics, they could spend a handful of days to make the controls work on a Vita, really.

Kingdom Hearts is a great idea on the other hand. Digimon as Sony's Pokemon? If they game was good... I mean, this isn't Pokemon, but it's big. I also think that games like Pupetteer should be released on Vita instead of PS3. I can't see this game selling big numbers there.

Sony should approach smaller developers like CD Projekt RED, Frictional Games, etc. and pay them money to make their games on Vita. Smaller devs should be easier to approach. Witchers, Amnesia on Vita? Sign me up! Also getting rights to Kingdom of Amalur or getting something out of THQ for Vita would be huge.

I'm also thinking... Wasteland 2 on Vita anyone? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2

Wonder how much they would have to back this project up by to have a "All previous rewards + we release the game on Vita" ;)

And never forget FIFA. A good FIFA 14 would easily climb its way to the top 3 best selling games on Vita. But it has to look and play exactly like the PS3 version.

You underestimate my intentions with the gamepad Pro and failed to acknowledge one of the bigger reasons for the triggers. The Vita could and should be used as a control for many PS3 games (essentially replicating the wii U's dual screens), but I believe it isn't because of the lack of trigger buttons. No other interface can replace the tactile feel of trigger buttons, using the back touch pad for a complicated FPS will just be terrible. The pad will also replicate the Wii U off screen play, something which many people have said is one of the best features of the wii U. I also believe that streaming PS3 games from the cloud will be something the Vita will eventually do and It would need trigger buttons for that as well. The gamepad pro will mostly be for domestic use.

Cool, but you fail to see just what an epic disaster at retail this would be. No. Just a simple no. Forget about it. It's a ridiculous idea. Look how Wii U is selling and how many games actually use the Gamepad. Look at how well the Gamepad Pro is selling for 3DS. Now take a look where Vita is at. There is no need for something like this. Even most core fans of the console would think 10 times before spending even more money on something that has no future, especially since at this point in time the future of Vita itself isn't so clear.

The wii U is selling well (above the 360+ps3's launch) apart from in europe, the gamepad pro and what I'm suggesting are 2 completely different things. You might as well be saying Kinect will be a failure because PS Eye didn't sell well when it was launched on ps3, the applications are not the same. Do you have a Vita+ps3 by any chance? I do and would happily spend $50 to allow me to play my ps3 games off screen and use the system as control in ps3/ps4 games, also as A Vita owner I'd be intrigued by any peripheral which gives my system more value... But hey, thats just me. Most periherals are sold at profit anyways and do not need to sell millions of units. I was never suggesting this would save the Vita, its just something I want (and expect) sony will do at some point.

This really isn't worth discussing. I have both consoles and wouldn't bother buying something like this, I'd much rather buy a game or two for that money. Want to play on PS3 with Vita? Download the LBP2 DLC. You can do it all without a ridiculous add-on that 5 people would buy. Remember that apart from manufacturing costs, there are development costs that need to be covered. And this idea is just so bad on so many levels, that it's really not worth talking about. Want remote play - support the idea on LBP2. If it earns enough money, you'll get more games with this option.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Sony should create a dildo shaped Vita so that the fans can double their pleasure.

It already has boobs on both sides. Geesh, demanding.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Introduce a Vita XL. 3DS was a hard sell because not everyone could perceive the graphical enhancements. XL was a brilliant move on Nintendo's behalf. 50% bigger, and literally 50% more sales.

Vita is supposed to play console quality games. That's the power that it packs. But the screen...., yes it's bigger than 3DS, but if Vita too gets a bigger screen, I think it will wow more people. It's kinda like seeing an HD television commercial on an old TV and the guy on the couch says "what's so cool about that?"

I would focus on a out of the box strategy. Which means I would advocate for the device to be stand alone capable. So that I could combat sticker shock, and assuage consumer fears. My primary concern would be to make the Vita into a safe, and comfortable product for consumers. I can convince them to reinvest in the platform later. I would make my entire focus about getting them in the door. Before I even thought about follow up purchases. To do this I would focus on three initiatives that could be achieved at minimal cost, but would drive up demand enough initially to cover the losses.

The first initiative would be to redesign the device to have internal memory rather then a card reader. Removing the reader would offer up some savings to defer the cost of say 32 GB of internal memory. Which should be more then enough to take care of most apps, or a number of downloaded games. It costs the company a peripheral, but the peripheral is viewed with disdain by the target audience anyway, and discourages less dedicated buyers. The product needs to offer what just about every other competitor in this marketplace offers.

The second initiative would be to have the device come preloaded with a library of retro game titles, or in a included system game card. I would make it substantial, varied, and above all else I would list the preloaded games on the package. I wouldn't just use my companies greatest hits run through a emulator. I would also want some golden age classics, and some family games, and if the concept showed promise I would create custom packages. Perhaps genre heavy offerings.

The third initiative would be to refocus development priorities. The platform needs more games, more varied games, and cheaper games, and it needs them now rather then later. I would task a couple of studios, or contract a couple third party studios to port older games to the platform. Porting could deliver more games in a shorter amount of time to the Vita. Then could be accomplished through new game development. It would also allow for more casual popular fair to get to the platform with decreased risk.

In doing this I could potentially sustain the current price point a bit longer. While allowing the product to remain profitable. I could revisit the suggested retail price at a later date if these initiatives didn't pan out with consumers. I wouldn't want to over reach, and then get caught without a back up plan. These initiatives could be rescinded with yet another redesign later down the line. A reduction in the price point cannot be withdrawn. If you cut down the profit margins there, and they don't work. You are effectively cornered, because then the only responses are more price cuts, or more value adding. Both of which will result in probable loses.

ill be a slave boy for game publishers... so they would release a game for vita....
