Absolutely not. I am not saying this as Animal Crossing fanboy either. (even though I am) I know plenty of people who bought their 3DS just to play Animal Crossing, the game has a cult following. Yeah, the casual market isn't there like it used to be. But the name Animal Crossing is a seller for soccer moms and people who actually are fans of the series. Animal Crossing is in no danger.

My concern is that while the AC purchases are seeming to INCREASE in JP, City folk selling better than GC AC, 3DS AC selling faster than DS version, NA numbers are seeming to shrink with each title. GCsales>CIty folk. The popularity of the DS version in NA can be large attributed to the fact that a lot of girls had DS's back then. The trends seen by other female targeted games don't help.

Complied with the fact that a low user base percentage being female here in NA and the 60% of female buyers in JP, that we might see a larger than expected loss in sales. Game forums don't really reflect mass market.

I like you alot, your cool but that bet.... I wouldn't be suprised if NoA gets past 600k in its 1st month. Im telling ya alot of people want AC and as one guy previously stated, There are people who are buying a 3DS just for it!

You mean like in Japan? I'd be joyious. I would applaud the world for embracing the innocence.

Animal Crossing will be fine, I'm more worried about other series/games...
Although, I don't know anyone that will buy this game, but that is largely decided by the fact that none of the friends I hang out with often does not own a Nintendo console and probably won't. I see this title selling on par with Wild World.

I'm sorry but you should really call that bet off lol. Your going to definitely lose.

edit: to whomever doesn't think that AC:NL wont surpass 600k by the end of the year.
