The best always lives on regardless of age. The PS2 did it, if the PS3 can do it, regardless of sales, it will be the best this gen.
How is the ps3 the new king? Maybe in terms of how much they will sell eventually? From sony's stance, they lost billions on the ps3. It was a finacial disaster and everyone knows it. From a financial point of view, it will finish last this gen. From your guys point of view from how many consoles it sells, than yes, it will finish second. But a company is all about making profit, and they will never recoup what they lost. Its a loss in a business perspective and a win in your so called selling more than microsoft or nintendo's perspective which means nothing.

ps3 is the new king because it is selling the most right now. the last years, the wii was selling the most but it wasn't the king because ps2's lifetime sales have been higher?
so, for the last years lifetime sales are what we look at and from now on weekly sales are what we look at?

Ethomaz your logic doesn't make sense. You make this thread because the old king the ps2 is dead ( no production anymore). Now you say the wii is dead but this isn't true because it's still in production and selling so wii isn't dead and is the new king. End of discussion

The Wii is almost died... too weak to became a King... anyway the Wii will die in the next year so the only console to hold the crown is PS3.
After the PS3 death which console will be the next King? Wii U, Orbis, Durango, Steambox???
Well this is ridiculous, but if we go by some basic rules (which no one is agreeing on) Ethomaz is right. The PS3 would be the new king since the PS2 just passed away. The PS family is the current royalty and it just so happens to be no one can beat the PS3's sales right now so holds the crown.
The part that doesn't make any sense (apart from everything) is that PS2 was king because technically didn't the NES just stop production a few years ago? The new king should have been crowned then and PS2 would not have been a contender.
So really in a reality where PS2 was king PS3 would be the new king, but I'm not sure if that bit of knowledge is actually correct.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
