amazon and gamestop

Around the Network

I get all my new consoles games from a local gaming store that's owned by the guys who run it. They generally break street dates by a few days, and are all around awesome. There's a Gamestop in my town as well, but new games there cost 10-15€ more, and the manuals and crap are only in Swedish and Danish. Only ever got something new from them when they had their "trade in 3 crap games for 1 new one!" opening offer.

For used games I go to both, since there isn't much difference in prices, but their available stock is sometimes very different. I used to buy loads of stuff from huuto.net, which is basically the Finnish version of Ebay, but not so much lately. I think increased competition has encouraged the stores to drop the prices of second hand games.

Game mania

I buy most of my games at Walmart, otherwise I go where the good deals are.

Nintendo still doomed?

Wal-mart or Superstore. They're so much cheaper.

Pre-ordered games: online, usually at bestbuy.com
Newer games: Gamestop. They get the games early.
Older Games: a place called Fairgames, it doesn't have new games until a couple weeks after, but they're cheaper.

I just buy from any place really. However, I do try to avoid GameStop at all cost these days. For years Wal-Mart was the only retailer close by that carried a good amount of games and kept the prices competitive, so I went there a lot. The K-Mart in my area is pitiful. I swear a few months ago I found an old Pikmin for the GameCube that was still $50.

Wii and DS: Wal-Mart.

PS2: Kaybee Toys.

X Box: GameStop.

DSLite: not sure, but I think it was GameStop.

Original GBA: think Wal-Mart.

New bright-screen GBA: not sure, think Wal-Mart though.

Original DreamCast: an out of town Wal-Mart, was hard to find them that holiday season.

Original N64: not sure, I think Toys R Us.

Original NES and SNES: not sure, Santy Clause brought em.

We have a Best Buy and Target real close now, so I've been buying from them more lately. Just picked up No More Heroes from Best Buy this evening. There is a locally owned game store(Top Games) that I buy the majority of my classic games from(NES, SNES, etc).

"I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself."

At the Game Stop I work at I get the 25% discount on used and 15% on new ^_^.
