That would be fairly awesome. I would spend quite a bit for it, probably 40 for an FF10 remake, and double that for a 6, 7, or 8 remake.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

But they have Microsofts system to release it on as well. Main line final fantasy has always been high risk as they throw a ton of money at those titles but they've all sold 5m+, even XIII with its mixed reception managed to sell 7m. They're almost guranteed to make their money back as long they don't drag out development for 6 years and keep a distinction between Real Final fantasy's and lessor endevours like Lightning Returns. Also Square always have the blanket of protection from their lower risk titles like Dragon Quest, all their re-releases and Edios title. They won't be going bankrupt any time soon

haha, I'd say there is abit of it since we know main character can teleport around during combat.

It looked clunky and slow is what it was, it didn't have the speed of KH games in those videos, maybe it was still early in dev, after like 4-5 years...... That's just ridiculous.... sigh....

But DQX will undoubtedly be a seller. |
In Japan it will. Elsewhere much less so. In order for SE to commit gigantic resources to Wii U, they would need to be assured it would be a property that would sell well in all three territories. Crystal Chronicles didn't exactly sell well either on GCN or Wii. I think it'd more likely Wii U gets a port or two of a Kingdom Hearts or DQ, but I would be surprised if they took FF from Sony's platforms.
Japan loves handhelds, that's where Nintendo gets all the big Japanese support. Don't see that trend changing the way things are going.

Could they strike a deal, like they did with DQ IX where Nintendo distributed the title in America and Japan? It reached decent sales, and can make the Wii U the "House of the JRPG", if it is a success more Japanese companies (including Square-Enix) will follow

FF is multiplatform it'll no doubt be on the U, 360 even got FF and it's sales in Japan are non existent which negates your view about sales from all three regions, this isn't like the Wii situation where developers wrote Nintendo off because of the GC and never saw how the market would turn out, now days developers have to be multiplatform. Crystal Chronicles for most part is nowhere near the actual FF games it's quite mediocre so expecting it to do good numbers or even comparing it is not being realistic, the U is not the same situation as the Wii unlike before games can actually be scaled to run on the U and developers haven't committed fully to other platforms. To give an example FFXIII was already a PS3 game before the platform launched but FFXV which is hinted by SE to be in development has no set platform and no doubt performances in Japan are going to sway the eastern studios who mind you desperately need to stage a resurgence after a wayward 7th gen.
SE have also had a run in with Sony over FF Type-0 which further indicates the situation between the two isn't as rosy as some think, it begs the question what's happening with Versus, Nintendo have shown they're willing to nick notable titles like Bayonetta and work with studios like PG so I don't see the same trends unfolding because the situations now are far different then before.

The mainline FF games haven't appeared on a Nintendo home console since Super Nintendo, so it's by no means something anybody should be expecting for Wii U. If it were to happen, it would be a very significant change for Square Enix. I think Wii U will get the Dragon Quest X port, maybe some kind of Kingdom Hearts remake or port, and then mabye one or two of those DQ Monsters or FF Chocobo games.

They never appeared on Xbox so what's your point? Fact is the series is multiplatform now and would sell on Nintendo's platform it wouldn't be a siginificant change like you claim it would just be Square being Square, the industry has changed and that's what a number of people are factoring or can't fathom, this isn't the PS2 era.
