perhaps we have a similar Bayonetta 2 situation. Remember a few months back when there was all that rage over the rumor that Versus was being cancelled. What if the initial rumor was true, but Ninty jumped in and saved the project and we'll see it announced as an exclusive at e3. haha, I'm jk, but it would cause massive meltdowns.

I am very happy with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It had a lot of flaws still but it was a giant step back into the direction of the first game. In fact I would love it if Nintendo could secure the next Deus Ex for Wii U.

That would cause thousands of internet suicides....and maybe some real ones....

I don't see why Dragon Quest would do that badly on WiiU.  Sure, it's a port of a MMRPG, but DQX still did respectably (and Square-Enix said they were satisfied with its performance), and one of the primary appealing features about WiiU is having the beta for that title on there... I'm sure everything will be fine.

As for PS4, if it is tough to say how WiiU will do, then the same is true for PS4, especially if Sony decides to go a super expensive route.  They can't afford to do that, otherwise they'll really be in serious financial trouble.  NextBox is NO threat in Japan; XBox 360 doesn't even have much of a fanbase.  At all.

Of course it's a bit unsettling that we haven't heard anything yet, but for now, I'm gonna give the benefit of the doubt.

SE Japan is in a mess right now. I don't see them providing support to a new console anytime soon. They will be going big on mobile and handhelds next year. Possibly Versus 13 will be announced in January 2013 again as ps3 exclusive at their meet. They gave support to 360 only after it became a success in west. Unless wiiu develops a credible sales number, I doubt SE would put in any major support for the console.

I think there is a very good possibility that FF15 will be on WiiU. I just hope it is much better than 13, my biggest disappointment in some time.

Kingdom Hearts 3 -- PS3/360/Wii U + PS4/720 (1080p + anti-aliasing, same game otherwise)

Final Fantasy Versus -- PS4/720 title

Agne's Philosophy -- PS4/720 title

Final Fantasy XIII Collection -- PS3/Wii U

Dragon Quest XI -- 3DS + Wii U (play on the go -- or at home in HD)

Final Fantasy V + VI Remakes -- 3DS/iOS/Android

WiiU already is making some waves in Japan. It's still the #2 selling console in Japan, it's third week sales, although 4k lower, are still in the 120k range. DQX is posed to be a hit. What's the big issue here?

Square Enix was hellbent on pushing towards the cinemagraphics end. I didnt even play FFXIII after too many cut scenes. My wife and I used to play VII and I was addicted to playing just the side games while she pretty much chatted with every npc and made way more gils than was necessary, but every day was fun. SE needs to balance gameplay with graphics. They had too many games on the drawing board with a unified mission to max out on polygons.

PC gaming was doing that years ago and became a small niche market for people to show off their FPS instead of about gaming. Blizzard broke the trend with ugly (at least not very high end) WOW, and continued with SC2, and now Diablo 3, with good gameplay, Blizzard designed games that were more accessable and fun.

Consoles are gimped mid range PCs at best. Going with Nintendo might save SE as Nintendo buyers in general arent "performance" egos that just want to boast how their consoles managed 60FPS @ 1080p ...(laughable by PC gaming standards...in fact won't even occupy most screens). Bring back that magic of FF series first.
