OK, so we already know that Dragon Quest X is coming.  That is a given.

Then we have an unknown port done by Straight Right.

The question is... what's next?

Final Fantasy XIII -- The possibility is there, as the WiiU CAN run it.  And if they wanna multiplat the upcoming "Lightning Returns", then it should be a no-brainer.

Final Fantasy XIV -- Maybe, but it remains to be seen.

Final Fantasy XV -- Depends.  If WiiU is more successful than even PS4 in Japan, then Square-Enix will HAVE to bring this to WiiU as well, even if it means a few (minor) downgrades.  They can't afford to keep FF to Sony forever.

Kingdom Hearts -- Most likely choice.  We didn't get the KH HD remake but that doesn't mean it won't come.  And there is still suggestion that we'll see KH3 on WiiU.

At this point, the answer is a mystery, but this is my opinion on the matter.

I'm a bit disappointed right now. I thought I'd see an actual statement from Square Enix D:

Although, considering the system has just launched in Japan and (so far) is about to reach the Vita's lifetime sales (not to mention its sales, although not on par with 3DS, are at least surpassing PS3, I'm sure we'll hear something sometime next year.

But DQX will undoubtedly be a seller.

Yes, I think so. And I would really dig a Kingdom Hearts on WiiU, that would save me 400-500€ for a PS4^^

I'm pretty sure that Versus XIII is FFXV at this point.

I doubt Japan factors as much as it did for FF. Unless they plan on changing their aims, they'll continue to appeal to the West and the West will buy more of it than Japan.

I would have never imagined the day where we would be saying this, but I welcome it with very open arms.

Nintendo is finally a force that can't be ignored in Japan, and that means that J-devs will have to make games for it, despite their resistance to Nintendo.

I think Nintendo will try to get another exclusive from Square (aside from Dragon Quest X), maybe a main Final Fantasy game but highly doubt it.

Multi-platform developments hasn't really worked out for Square Enix this gen. I say the odds of the mainline FF games extending to a 3rd platform is unlikely. Honestly, I hope they go back to being exclusive to Sony.

Multiplatform games are supposed to sell more than exclusives, but that's not what happened with Final Fantasy XIII or its sequel.
