It's doing good, not as ... 269 21.54%

Could have been better... 176 14.09%

It's doing poorly; Wii did much better! 127 10.17%

Seems to be doing best in Japan, then pretty good in america and poor in Europe. The Greeks must not be buying much these days.

I really want a developer with strong partnership or something with Nintendo to come out with their own version of Saints Row or GTA but with decent storyline and blazing funny like Saints row the third. It can contain an episodic feel to it as well.

I know there is Lego GTA style but I dont know how it will turn out.

If I wanted something new from a N console it would be that.

ave to say. I played it for a bit. Zombie U and Nintendo Land. To be honest, I think this will be a flop.

Its got none of the wonder the Wii had when you first tried it. You could see why with the Wii everyone wanted to try it. With the Wii U that feeling is not there at all.

Zombie U has pretty bad controls. Why could it not have decent FPS controls??????????? And I expected the visuals to jump at least something. Even Perfect Dark Zero back in 2005 had much better graphics than any Xbox 1 or GC or PS2 title.

So far it doesnt come close to Halo 4.

Nintendo Land is obviously Nintys go at making another Wii Sports. Only this time, its 10 mins and not interested. With Wii Sports it was arrrgh 1 more go grandad. Lets bowl it up.

I think 2013 will show bad sales.

I'm pleased *but* the OS needs an overhaul for speed (it's annoyingly slow) and coherency (why isn't the Friends List, for example, integrated with Miiverse instead of floating off in its own space?*) and, of course, devs need more than 8-10 months to produce games, but I am loving it, game-wise. (The only quibble I have is with Nintendos' asinine** refusal to make Nintendo Land and NSMBU online playable.)

*There are lots of little annoyances like this that scream "rushed!" but, then again, the 3DS isn't exactly known for offering a unified experience across the various facets of its OS.

**Defend this all you want with whatever excuses you can muster, but there really isn't a reasonable excuse for leaving these options out (like they left out Achievements, which I don't care aobut, but a lot of people do) and basically is just another case of Nintendo being stubborn for reasons known only to themselves.

So far I've seen two trolls on this thread...wonder how long it will take for more to come.

Anyway, I played the system over a friend's house (lucky rich bastard) and I loved it. The Gampepad is really comfortable and NSMBU is really fun, never had so much fun with a 2D Mario game since the DS one (never liked the Wii game). ZombiU is really cool, although after playing for a while I understood when people come from with the cricket bat, it gets repetitive after a while, but the overall game is really good and I will definitely pick it up when I get my Wii U.

Miiverse is simple the best thing I've ever since in terms of a gaming community, no trolls, everyone helps each other, awesome drawing, etc. It's just a nice place to hang out. Lot's of potential with the Miiverse.

Overall in my small time with the system I really enjoy it, there's things Nintendo should fix like the loading times and some things which will make the system better, but no system is perfect after just a month, neither the 360 nor the PS3 had all the things that make them a better system today.

Hardware sales seem to be going well. I don't think anyone could realistically expected much more, other than the poor start in Europe. Software is a bit of a concern, with a lot of games falling off the table, but some of that could be that people are waiting until after Christmas to buy more.

The Wii U will be fine for the next year. Beyond that? I have no idea. A lot depends on it being included in multi-platform releases or not. At the very least, it will have Nintendo exclusives, so it's not like it's going to wither up and die. It's going to be a solid console regardless.

Fix the dang virtual console. I continually am saddened by their mismanagement of the greatest digital shop of this gen.

1 month in the Us, not in europe and Japan.

I think its doing fine. Next week it should get to around 2million, and theres another week of christmas to track. By the end of the christmas season it should have 2.5 million sold. Until may it might outsell the Vita up to date sales.
I'm pretty sure it will explode next holiday season with a price cut and some more games under the belt.

Wii U. I dunno. I'm not convinced. I've bought one, but I'm not convinced.

Anyway, to answer the OP, the sales are alright. Not exceptional, but not rubbish. It's pretty much performing as I expected, which isn't brilliant news for Nintendo, as I didn't expect it to do all that well. I imagine Nintendo would love for Wii U to be another Wii, but I can't see that happening. Not as things stand.

Y'see, the Wii was simple: it had an unique user interface and it had some must-have software that everyone understood. Want to have a party? Want to get fit? Want to play Mario? You get the idea.

By comparison, what's the Wii U got? I understand it offers HD Nintendo gaming (indeed, I bought it for that), but beyond that it all gets a little muddy. What's the unique selling point here? Why should I play my Wii U instead of my PS3 or 360 or my PCs? What does the Wii U offer that I can't get elsewhere, often for better and cheaper?

There is little in the way of compelling answers to those questions, though I have seen some try to respond with enthusiasm, if not much substance.

Just look at the tablet controller, for example: it's is... well... a bit rubbish. I want to like it, but, well, I kinda don't. Perhaps it will grow on me? I dunno,. But my iPads are better. My Android tablets are better. My phones (an iPhone and Samsung Note II) are better. All of them make the Nintendo offering look cheap and rubbish by comparison. That's not good for Nintendo. There isn't something innovative, new, and exciting here. The controller just feels like a big, cheap tablet with extra bits tagged on with less-than-perfect touch controls, not like a whole new interface that I HAVE to try.

That's not ideal. As I'm sure you can tell, I'm left unimpressed. And if I'm not impressed, I imagine many others won't be as well. At least the Wii, for all it was graphically stunted, had some Wow-factor.

So, all-in-all, I'm not blown away, and I'm not convinced the Wii U will do too well until it finds a reason to exist beyond 'Play HD Nintendo!' It has about a year to sort itself out. Let's see if it does.
