The real reason is that THQ does not have the cash any more to justify such an investment. It's sad but I think THQ will be the next 'big' studio to close down unless someone swoops in and take them.

It would be somewhat funny if it was Nintendo, perhaps at the last minute ala Bungie and Microsoft. Doubtful as it may be, it seems that bad.

Ubisoft is, thankfully, looking to prevent the catch-22, thanks to ZombiU and Assassin's Creed III. If either one manages to sell well, developers will have a hard time justifying the argument of a lack of market for games. And it looks like ZombiU has a good chance of selling well. Based on comparisons with Red Steel, it could easily be 2+ million. Add Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Dragon Quest X, and hopefully the Japanese developers will also be convinced. |
That's why I REALLY gotta give a shout out to Ubisoft and the folks at Capcom and Square-Enix for getting behind the WiiU from the start. All three clearly know what they are doing. And like ZOMBIU, MH3 is doing quite well for itself in Japan, having cleared 110k in its debut week. It's the second best selling WiiU game in that territory thus far. And of course DQ is an instant sell (probably not as much as other entries, but it'll still do great regardless).
I think releasing a game for three systems(four, if you count the PC) simultaneously might just be a bit too much for most devs to handle, and, with the Wii U's(current) low market share, it probably isn't really worth it to port many games to it. We'll have to see where things are 6 months to a year from now.
Honestly, at this point, I'd be happy with Gamecube levels of 3rd party support. Anything would be better than the Wii situation.

The thing is people dont understand a basic premise.
If we ask them what is better an i3 at 3GHz or an i7 at 1.5Ghz, they will probably say the first one is better. Ignorance at its best.
I wonder how fast the processor in the dreamcast was. If it was more than 1.3Ghz, the dreamcast is more powerful than the Wii U! And thus the world goes round... and dumber.

After the Wii U don't have any trust that 3rd-parties will make such decisions based on what is good for them bussiness-wise. They will not port or only port bad. I expect nothing usable for a Nintendo-console from Activision, EA, Rockstar, TakeTwo and Konami. Namco at least seems to have changed it's stance against Nintendo from the DS/Wii-Gen.
Would have still been nice for it to release on the wiiU seen as it needs all the support it can get.
I thought they said this a couple of days ago?
did someone use a PS3 on me?

200 MHz
.
It was 128-bit though, I don't think WiiU boasts that!
