This reason is just as bad. It will take a third party game selling really well on Wii U to convince publishers to port anything to Wii U - same catch-22 as Wii. The safe option is still PS3/360 only.

Ubisoft is, thankfully, looking to prevent the catch-22, thanks to ZombiU and Assassin's Creed III. If either one manages to sell well, developers will have a hard time justifying the argument of a lack of market for games. And it looks like ZombiU has a good chance of selling well. Based on comparisons with Red Steel, it could easily be 2+ million.

Add Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Dragon Quest X, and hopefully the Japanese developers will also be convinced.

That's why I REALLY gotta give a shout out to Ubisoft and the folks at Capcom and Square-Enix for getting behind the WiiU from the start.  All three clearly know what they are doing.  And like ZOMBIU, MH3 is doing quite well for itself in Japan, having cleared 110k in its debut week.  It's the second best selling WiiU game in that territory thus far.  And of course DQ is an instant sell (probably not as much as other entries, but it'll still do great regardless).
