It's too early to judge. The Vita opened to similar numbers and did horrible, yet PS360 opened to much lower numbers and did great.

So far, pretty good launches in NA and Japan and pretty bad in Europe, but we'll get a better picture from January onwards.

Now we're on the same page.

Investors are like greedy little kids....with money.   They just want to be told what is hot and what is not and what will earn a return as quickly as possible.   If acomapny is doing well but isn't growing rapidly, investors won't want it because their purchase price and sell price would likely be the same or very little difference.

I work in this environment and it is 100% true.  Thats why it is always good to buy stock on a field you know, as there is a good chance you know more than the general market does.  Hence I made over 60% on my Nokia shares recently.

I know it's off topic but how do those investors keep their jobs? Do they just get lucky?!

Hedging, short sales, established mutual funds, using lendors....

Once you have a good amount of money to invest, it's pretty easy to keep cash flow coming in even without knowing much about what you invest in. 

Granted, like Kowenicki said, those that know their markets better will do better.

Not here in the UK it's not. Plenty of stock everywhere.

I live in the UK and it was out of stock online for HMV, and I asked GAME and they claimed to have sold out completely of the Deluxe bundle in a 100 mile radius, with a few Basic being sold in bundles to seem like the Deluxe to compensate. 

New stock came in on Monday and that's caused a lot of calling for people on waiting lists and now only a few systems remain. Stock may not be constricted nationwide, but it is not plentiful in anything other than the largest stores. 

Odd. Games only out of 3 types:

Must have been a pretty small waiting list.

Well it was only anecdotal evidence given a waiting list for my store. Being the flagship GAME store in the South-West it's not surprising they had a hefty number of consoles delivered, so there was a better supply:demand ratio than many places.
