Sonic Team's got plenty of talent in them, i maintain. After the disaster that was Sonic 2006, they really got their shit together. Also the people who make Phantasy Star Online (i think that was moved away from Sonic Team?) |
To me, it just looks like people praise their new games because after the really shitty ones, even mediocre ones will look good.
I LOVE ICELAND!
Also, to add insult to injury, Nintendo taking away a PSO title (which Sony portables usually get and has a decent following in Japan) and adding it to the 3DS library would be a good strategic move imo. I know the game is not massive like MH, but it's still another blow to the Vita.

I agree, those things would be a dream come true for me. The problem is that I don't expect to see a Genesis-style Sonic game on WiiU. The CPU is too slow to have Blast Processing... |
hahaha this actually made me laugh :D thanks archie!!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
Mmmm, I'd like Total War to be on the WiiU.
Realistically, I don't see SEGA's portfolio at the moment adding anything to Nintendo's. Best for Nintendo to shop somewhere else, unless they plan to revive/reboot a lot of old franchises.
I'd love to see SEGA under Nintendo, but don't think that'll happen. There's a much bigger chance of Nintendo buying a SEGA IP. Remember that we heard a rumor that Nintendo would reveal some kind of partnership or game that would send even bigger shock/rage waves through the business than Bayo2? http://dualpixels.com/2012/11/29/rumor-behind-the-scenes-with-first-party-hardware-and-third-party-softwear-next-gen/
Could it be that Nintendo has worked out some kind of deal with SEGA??
And I don't really understand why everyone here thinks it's better for Nintendo to acquire Platinum Games. Why??
And like S.Peelman said in the post above; I'd also love to see Total War on Wii U :D

Nintendo does have more franchises than they can handle and Platinum Games does have talented people that could make new games for those franchises.

I get that Nintendo has more IP's than they can handle, but why do everyone think that Platinum is so great?! They've done, what, bayonetta? What else?

To put numbers on it, there are probably 12 to 18 franchises that Sega owns that could reliably produce a 1+ million selling game (and a couple that could produce a 5+ million selling game) if they were produced at the same kind of quality level as most Nintendo games; and most of these games would be relatively inexpensive to produce because they would (ideally) be 2.5D games where realistic graphics are less important than style. In contrast, the value in Square Enix is franchises that are gigantic blockbusters that require massive teams and a gigantic cost to produce. |
Thats bull, with Deus Ex, Final Fantasy, and Tomb Raider under Square Enixes thumb, this looks like a new start for them. Sega has no games, nor the budgets behind their titles to have mass appeal.
