Hey was PSASBR overtracked last week???
It said it was a little over 170k but now wit sales this week its not even 170k??? Thats crazy and it made top 100 literally WW sales!!!

NPD reported under 80K sales in Novemeber for PS3 and under 8K for Vita so our numbers of the launch week was wrong, that also means the decline rate has to change so it will get less sales.

wow thats crazy because everyone was calling it a flop and that was suppose to be with 170k opening week!!! wonder wat the'll say now

stop posting from the WiiU ;)

So that's why I've been seeing post like this.

Posted from a PS3 browser.

So the Vita continues to sell less than the Wii, and you guys say its not dead.

Dead would be selling next-to-nothing with no games in development. Making no money. Having literally no interest from the consumer.

This Week it had over 20% of the handheld market and sold half a Million games. Thats a lot of money made.

Id advise getting some new Wheaties. Sony seems to have shit right in yours.

Hitman made an impressive comeback.

Far Cry 3 had a weak launch .

I don´t really understand why the european people don´t the Wii U.

And one more thing, I really start to doubt turkishs PSABR prediction .

I wonder if the DS will continue to outsell the Vita for the rest of the year?

Too bad people in the USA can't figure out to just buy the 3DS instead - that'd be a HUGE boost to 3DS' numbers.

But, it is what it is. Maybe Nintendo just wants to see BOTH of their handhelds outselling both of Sony's and Sony is content to see their sole console outselling both of Nintendo's.

Everybody knows lol the Wii U browser didn't quote correctly in this forum.

Nice to see the entire Top 30 selling over 100k. Good times.

Is the Forza series starting to show series fatigue? After 6 Weeks those Horizon numbers arent too great.

Forza 3 - 1.23 Million
Forza 4 - 1.1 Million
Forza H - 742k

Its worth noting that Forza Horizon also opened higher thsn Forza 3, it just had a much quicker drop. Forza 3 averaged ~205k over those 6 Weeks. Horizon has averaged ~120k. Fairly sharp drop.

After 10 Weeks those will look even worse. Starting to think that Microsoft are milking it a tad too much. Should have alternated between PGR and Forza, rather than trying to make Forza the "next big thing".

WiiU will be headed for disappointment come Jan/Feb. Mark my words.

WiiU, 3DS and Vita are going to be the big losers of this generation.

I can't really say anything about what will be the future of the Wii U, but my god you must be retarded if you think the 3DS is going to be a "big loser of this generation."

The 3DS selling 500k in one week is never bad.  It only did "poorly" because last year it sold much more at the same time.

But I think you weren't paying attention when it's been announced that Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and Luigi's Mansion are coming to North America next year.  All of these games have good potential at selling the system.

Not only that, but we have Monster Hunter 4 for Japan and global Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U and 3DS.  There's Dragon Quest VII for Japan.  There are two more Zelda games that will be coming to the 3DS as well.  A remake and an original.  Super Smash Brothers too.  ALL of these things I listed will boost the sales of the 3DS, and the 3DS' sales are ALREADY quite high, being a third of the sales of the PS3 or 360's and being out for a fifth of the time.  Seriously?

I'm retarded? Thanks for the comment.

Its going to be a big loser compared to the DS. By the end of the generation, mobiles will have taken away what market share Nintendo (still) has, leaving very little for them to pick over.

The 3DS selling 500k in one week isn't bad if you don't bother looking at comparative DS sales during the same point in its lifespan. The DS sold 850,000 units in 2006, and 1.3m in 2007. Do you believe that the titles you listed are going to give the 3DS a 150% increase in unit sales for Holiday 2013? If not, its going to fall further and further behind.

And to me, that is going to be a big dissapointment to Nintendo. Both Sony and Nintendo are going to lose a lot of market share, because their devices are not very different from their last generation offerings, whereas mobiles are really disrupting the market and economics for both systems.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

But if he were saying that the loser of next gen was next gen, why not include the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft?  We know they're coming.  There's also Ouya.  Saying it the way he did doesn't seem like he meant to call the generation itself a loser generation.  Especially in context to this thread, it seems to be sales-related.

Yeah I'm 99.9% certain he meant only those consoles, so I guess you could call it ridiculous that he's damning the sales of all current gen consoles when one has yet to be out for a month anywhere and another has hit 25mil in 18 months, when we don't even know the names of the other systems, let alone anything else.

I've already seen enough from the WiiU to determine how its future is likely to play out. My three primary issues with the system and it becoming significantly adopted this generation are:

1. Disruption. The Wii significantly disrupted last generation due to motion controls. The WiiU does not. The tablet isn't a significant game-changer, especially when Microsoft and Sony moved laterally and have essentially offered comparable concepts via SmartGlass.

2. Technology. The WiiU is essentially last-gen. Its true the Wii was (arguably) as well, but its control scheme negated that issue until late into its life cycle. With online gaming being the huge growing segment of the gaming population, Nintendo has not properly prepared the device for this transition. The 8GB SSD card is a very big downside. This is going to be their achilles heel, as 3rd party publishers are going to have a growing appetite for the lucrative DLC market. We've already seen the vast majority of publishers fail to pledge new DLC to the system, and this is very scary.

3. Publishers. Go look at a list of 3rd party exclusives for the WiiU. Go ahead. How many games are exclusive to the WiiU vs. X360/PS3 only? Most are. This should be very scary, as its an essential re-hash of last generation. Add points #1 and #2, and it'll be very difficult for publishers to want to develop on the WiiU when its technology will be weaker than the other two (costing more time to port any title to the system), and offer fewer benefits as to what the Wii did - namely huge unit sales.

You can disagree with me and call me names all you like, but lets have this discussion in a few months and see how far off I am.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
