My new scores with my i7-3970X Extreme

your rig costs $4000!
mobo $350
ram $250
ssd $400
cpu $1000
gpu $2000
that gives you a performance/cost ratio of 14488/4000 = 3.622

my rig cost $600
MOBO - $50
GPU - $200
SSD - $130
RAM - $60
CPU - $150
my performance/cost ratio is 4186 / 600 = 6.977

since mine can play every game on high i think im content. instead of buying parts im going to learn overclocking and see what improvements i cant find.

He only has one GTX 690, which as far as I know costs $1000.

Nice physics score on that thing! It'd be nice to have one of those, but I'd rather not have to replace a lot of my system including my mobo for it.

"It's actually just two GPUs (I only have one 690, but it counts as two cards). If I was running Quad 690 SLI, I would knock my current scores out of the ballpark! Basically, dual 7970s can take 1 690 because just one of those cards are plenty of competition for it."

If he was running dual 690 cards, then I don't think my dual 7970's would be able to beat his score.

Ooooh.. then 14488 / 3000 = 4.829 thats more reasonable

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6152068

got a new card a 7950, Ima overclock it a bit more with volts but its currently at 1040 mhz GPU 1425 mhz Memory.

My I7 920's @3.8 ghz @1.2 volts, I can get it to 4.1 but it I have to bump it to 1.3 volts which imo is not worth it.
