are a few of you using big external drives or am i reading these hard drive sizes wrong 3 of them are under 160gb

My setup includes a 80GB SSD as my primary drive (Windows, software, antivirus... ), one HDD for various stuff movies, muzik, one HDD for work and as My documents and all the waste I get from ze Interwebz. And a second SSD specifically for games only (Crucial m4 256Gb, Can't recommand that baby enough)

Really, you should now use a SSD as primary drive and a HDD for the rest. This makes your computer much faster.

Btw, has anybody any feedback on hybrid drive (Revodrive), or SSD-cached HDD ? Is it a nice solution ? At the moment, the only big drawback of using SSD alongside HDD is, when you need to access one of your HDD, it needs to start spinning before accessing the datas because it was in idle start cause I wasn't using it. So I've a super fast computer BUT if I don't use the HDD. Anybody as an idea about type of HDD that can stay idle and spinning ?

 


Hybrid drives are shit, they are not really faster unless it's for quick bursts for a few seconds and not worth the extra cost at all, still produces a shit ton of heat too. Just stick to SSDs and if the power up spin is bothering you with HDDs, turn off the power saving feature.

that's why I haven't been upgrading since my 6950s lol, I just need a good enough setup until then XD

I actually updated my drivers, tweaked things a little bit and my score increased somewhat on 3dmark 11! Nearly 700 points higher, not bad:

Here is my score using only 1 GTX 580. When I upgraded my drivers it disabled SLI and I didn't re-enable it until after this try.

I'm kind of impressed. Just put it together today. Waiting for a samsung SSD to come. No idea if that will raise the score or not. I'll start oc'ing it as well and see what more I can get out of it. Doubt it will go much higher though.

Those two 7970s.................... you cleared my graphics score (and overall score) with ease! :O

I'm surprised your two 690's don't score higher...I expected them to be higher. Is SLI enabled? I wonder if drivers are properly implemented for those 4 gpu's?

My cpu speed isn't showing up properly for some reason, I only had my 2600k at 4.6ghz though.
