lol the hell...isn't this what makes a splitscreen the better option? Same screen and you can see the other user. I realy don't understand what you trying to say here

@mad55: again..this COD! the best thing about this series is local splitscreen MP. Having multiple screens makes no sense (unless you have a really small tv) and definitely doesn't sound like more fun. This is in fact the first time I'm even hearing this argument.

and no Hyperbole to an extent is acceptable in PR..Spin is expected too..but this is lying though.

That's interesting. I always considered it to be better/fairer/more realistic to not know where your enemy is. I've heard this argument applied to Madden - wouldn't it be great if the other player doesn't see the play you choose? One way or another, if you still prefer the one-screen local option, it's there.

it depends on the game. I play UC3 MP a lot. You have no idea where the other players are and that's part of the design and what makes it fun. In COd you are already given a map view with the other players on it...so it's just a different approach to gameplay. People/teams try to outsmart each other. It's a twitch shooter (I have seen some argue against this) and is benefited from splitscreen in local MP. BF3 is different to both of these games and is fun for different reasons.

How is the COD local MP more fun on the wiiu?

Read the digitalfoundry article, they make it pretty clear. But to be resourceful, it has a dedicated screen for each player (one on the TV, one on the padlet).

It's had positive feedback thus far.

I'm sorry but that doesn't sound like 'more' fun at all. I think you are not understanding what makes cod local MP great. Having two screens to focus on is a negative in a twitch shooter like this.

Simple. Screen peeking is less ideal when it means having to look away from your specified screen (either GamePad or TV) to do it.

When me and my friends play local splitscreen we wish we  could have our own screen but still be in the same room. the watching each others screens thing is fun as well, but the option not to do it that way I like as well.

What's fun about knowing where other people are on the map? I always hate that because I always felt it was cheating.

Look at 2 places? You know that in local MP on the Wii U one person uses the gamepad while the other uses either the controller pro or the wiimote.

lol jesus christ...at least try and understand and read everything I typed people :D You guys are like some pack or something ...but sure I'll respond

ugh no that's not cheating lol You do realize there's a map showing where the other players are? It's part of the game design. When you have it all in one screen you can time and approach others differently and it makes the encounters much more fun.

And yes THIS is what I was referring to. To do this, if you are using two screens for two players then this aspect is gonna be missing from the game.

And let's face it..you people honestly truly believe this is gonna be a selling point for the COD crowd? Really?

Of course there is a map, but you can't see other players (unless you get an UAV). Maybe it's a matter of preferences but I hate playing split screen for 2 reasons. 1) It takes half the screen which is annoying to me, and even though the gamepad is obviously smaller than a TV it still plays quite nicely (From what I've seen). 2) Not knowing where your friend is it's a lot better than knowing, you know like an online match.

Nobody is arguing that the selling point for the COD crowd will be local MP, it's just that a lot of people (myself included) think is something great. Whether you like it or not, it's your own business.

I am starting to think you have never played COD local MP with friends....honest question..have you?

Ughh..... what the fuck is this, the inquisition?

Yes, I have.

'peaker'...fucking lol man..it's a SPLIT SCREEN GAME! Unless you are blind you see the other players!

Some people, who play fair, keep their eyes off their mates' screen, it has nothing to do with being blind.

I had a friend who actually put a matress across his big-screen tv to ensure other players don't peak.

Anyways, what's your point? That it's not a cool feature, for certain? I told you to read the DF article. I also meantioned other sources of positive feedback for the feature. Are you denying them?

no it's a simple fucking question..not rocket science that you need to dance around so much

IF you actually think the COD crowd will find this feature to be more fun..i think you are in for a rude awakening. Let's see shall we

and no it's a split screen game...with local MP and a friggin maps with enemy locations lol no need to 'peak' it's right in front of your eyes! As I explained above it's part of the game design. lol peaking...good one

I don't get what you mean here either if each player has their own screen locally how can that not be a better experience?

Also was reggie supposed to say dude did his job the lady never had any rebuttales.

Well shes an anchor for a world news CNN, what do you expect? Let an industry professional speak to reggie and watch them go no holds barred.

I agree, but if shes such a sidenote why is this thread 11 pages it seems like people are making more of this than their needs to be.

Because the war is on to to argue the Wii U's Specs and argue COD's validity on a Nintendo console. I say let the Nintendo faithful play it, but it will stay the least popular version by far.

Something tells me you haven't played COD. Like I said in the other post you can't see other players on the map unless you or one of your team gets an UAV, or when the other player shoots without a silencer.

You make a poster feel like shit when you say things like "I bet you haven't even played the game" and "You don't understand what local MP is", as if I've never gamed in my life.

For once why don't you just keep rude comments like that to yourself?

I don't just think, I pointd you to the god-dammed DF article for reference. But for some fucking reason you pretend it doesn't exist.

Where Treyarch deserves credit is for the expansion to the local multiplayer options, specifically in terms of split-screen. While the standard two-player mode of the existing console version is supported, the Wii U has an excellent alternative: discrete screens for each participant - HDTV output for one player, GamePad for the other.

I beg to differ. I have a lot of friends who are COD nuts and split screen MP is the best thing about it. But yeah it's a matter of preference. But given how much popular that aspect of the game is you have to admit that many people do find it a lot of fun.

But yes let's just agree to disagree

Oh, Reggie. >_>

You were doing really well until now.

I'm sure they're selling dramatically better on wiiu as well... (pause for laughter) moving on.

I honestly wonder if Black Ops 2 even broke 100k on wiiu, maybe slightly over 100k?

Come on, where's the DATA!?
