Forums - Politics - Any Egyptian posters around?

I'm curious about a  domestic perspective over today's events.   (Or was it yesterday, not sure been working +10 hours the last couple days.)

Haven't had the time to do the extensive research i'd like... a few articles for thos wondering what i'm talking about

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-egypt-morsi-20121124,0,1988042.story

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324851704578137253727025648.html

Short story is... Morsi declared a bunch of new powers for himself.

Pullus Pardus worked there a while, iirc, but likely he's back in Kuwait (where interesting things of their own are occurring, as they are in all of the Gulf monarchies at the moment).

It really depends on where he goes with this. If he's seizing power in order to effect necessary purges of Mubarak cronies, but otherwise doesn't abuse that power, then i could see this as being a good thing on the whole. If we get another Iran, on the other hand...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I googled the subject and found this gem. I believe this poster was posted in the early 20th century in Cairo. If you have any more questions, don't be shy about asking.

Im pretty sure PullusPardus is an Egyptian

Or i mean if anybody else has any opinions too. It's hard for me to tell how this is playing out.

"The protestors are all hired" argument is one that doesn't really ever sit well with me... and they make it sound like the protestors are more the liberal and leftist groups rather then the Mubarek faction.

Not as informed as I should but it doesn't look good.

With a finger pointing at the baddies from before whilst grabbing power with the other hand.
And it certainly isn't what the people of Egypt have been fighting for all this time. I wouldn't trust it and he should know better.

the main reason morsi won the election is because of the religious extremists the group known as "Ikhwan El Muslimeen" or Muslim Brotherhood.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_Brotherhood

they went in less educated villages in egypt and told them about how good is to elect the "muslim party" which is headed morsi and other religious extremists , who are like every extremists , rob the people out of their freedom in favor of themselves "in the name of god"

the main problem in egypt (and most countries nowadays) is the lack of education, people are very very gullible, and you can tell them anything and they will believe you, since there is barely any education and most of their education is based on false propaganda and false history that is biased toward the muslim religion (even though there are lots of christians too) and egyptian patriotism

the uneducated majority beat the  educated minority 60 million to 20 million , and those who revolt are the minority, and those who vote are the majority, this has happened over and over and over and over in egypt its a cycle that egyptians are used to by now, and everytime it happens it gets worse and worse.

the protestors are not paid, not all of them some are like these, which are given money by the election parties to "promote freedom and vote for (someone)"

these people in the video were given money from the "Muslim party" (i don't remember, if i recorded it , but they were holding banners of morsi too) this is how gullible villagers are (this Shbeen alkhoom not Cairo), and villages are easy targets for these parties, they also pay villagers to drive around with their car and have loud as hell speakers that speaks propaganda stuff like "Vote for morsi blah blah blah blah blah for one egypt, and one god" , exactly like those propagna bots you see in fallout 3 , and they're loud as hell,  and wake the crap out of me.

also sadly most of the "protestors" are young people who have no idea why they are doing what they are doing, except that it is "fun to hang out with friends so we can appear on telivison" I've said this a million times that protesting wont solve anything, and it is now showing, and the cycle continues to go full circle.

Isn't that mostly just democratic pandering? Trying to influence people with the lowest common denominator?

It doesn't sound worse then what i see in my country (Belgium).
