Anyway, I don't care, this game was one of my GOTYs last year.
So we can agree that Wii U isn't WEAKER than PS3? Since it has more details, but also looks a bit blurred?
Yeah, I'm really looking forward playning this game!! I'm currently playing through Asylum ^^
From the things Ive heard:
the cpu: ps3
gpu: wiiu
ram: tie, while wiiu has more ram it is slower than ps3 ram
Yes, but what you haven't heard is how they all work together. So the jury is still out on that one. And by what you have seen you must agree that Wii U isn't weaker than PS3, right?
Well ZombiU disappointed me, it doesn't look better than Condemned 1 for instance, but Nintendoland looks good, its shiny. But give it a year, I wanna see the 2nd gen games ^_^
take a look at those two vids; PS360 didn't look good when they launched either... But I agree, ZombiU could/should have looked much better. But I think there's two reasons why this didn't happen; 1) New console means you have to learn how to use the HW right, which is quite hard in the beginning. Just look up the link I provided. 2) New IP that had undergone many changes during it's development, which means less time to get the final product ready and new IP's can be risky business, so why spend loads of money optimizing it?
Photo and video comparisons of multipat games are pointless. Neither the PS360 or the Wii U are limited by technology, but by developer time, money and creativity. Gorgeous games are possible on all of these systems. These multiplat games are all using the same engines and the same basic programing, and are displaying on the same televisions. Any subtle differences in the porting processes really say nothing about the power of the system.
There is no question that the WiiU has more juice than the older systems, with its newer graphics chip and much more ram. We’ll only see the benefits of that if development teams develop a game to take advantage of new graphical techniques now possible. None of the multiplats are going to do that as there is a limited audience right now of Wii U customers so they can’t get back their investment. We’ll probably see some extra shiny visuals from big-budget Nintendo releases next year, such as a Mario Universe or whatever it will be called. But you can’t take a game designed for one system, plop it on another system and expect it to suddenly look better. It also doesn’t look worse, since it’s the same game (though a glitchy rushed port may play worse). It will be a similar situation when the other next gen systems arrive. We aren’t going to see that sudden, dramatic improvement we saw switching from SD to HD unless teams put a lot of time and money in adding more and more detail to their game worlds.
It seems to be a vicious cycle actually; PS360 fans bashing Wii for it's limitations, generating in Nintendo fans frustration. This in turn takes it form in Vita bashing, and Sony fans retaliate...
The difference is that the Wii U is more vital to nintendo than the vita is to Sony. After 3 quarters, I have yet to see any material impact of bad vita sales on Sony numbers for their gaming division, Nintendo on the other hand cannot have a repeat of the 3DS launch with the Wii U.
Well, no. Vita might not have a major impact on the finances of Sony as a whole. But they're in much more trouble that the Vita failing. Even if Wii U only sells 20 million copies, Nintendo will make a profit (well, not straight away as we all know) and survive. If PS4 sells 20m copies, will Sony survive like Nintendo will? ANd considering what Sony must have spent on R&D for the Vita I'm quite sure they're eager to make that back...
Again your second sentence doesnt make sense. The impact of the R&D would have shown up in the numbers like it did for sony in 2006 with its disterous PS3 launch, they lost close to $3 Billion (just in the gaming division) in the two year after it was released due to price cuts and saging sales. I dont see a -$2 billion print since the Vita was launched (and it has saging sales BUT no price cut, thats the difference). And we are not talking about the PS4, just the Vita and Wii U, try to confine it to those two things. Nintendo mentioned they are selling the console at a loss but 1 software sale will make the transaction profitable, while I take Reggies comments at face value, some clearer numbers would be better.
The R%D probably showed up; just not in negative figures. It could simply have meant that they didn't post more earnings that they could have. If you get what I'm getting at? I think Wii U will prove to be a better investment than Vita was.
I think the first ports are going to be hit or miss in terms of gauging Wii U horsepower compared to the PS360. The combination of having these games rushed out the door for Wii launch AND having little time/effort/resources to optimize them specifically for Wii U other than tacked on Gamepad functionality (for some) leave a lot to be desired. Over time, I expect this to get much better. Even if the rumors of a slower RAM and CPU are true, devs will find a way around it and the extra RAM has to account for something. The PS360 both had initial technical issues as well. Plus, like I've been saying, what happens when PS4 and Durango aren't as powerful as people are thinking? Will be interesting to see!
By the time MoHun:U comes out, no one will care about this debate anymore and only the Sony fans will left to do their complaining/trolling while everyone is playing games.
Sony fans will be too busy playing the enormous list of games and awesome exclusives they got for next year so we shouldnt worry much about them. its people like you with posts like these we should worry about complaining and trolling

?????????
?!
You know that youtube always plays the videos at 360p unless you change the resolution?
Two of those videos are in 720p and the other one at 1080p.
They are "in 720p" but they do not display like 720p in these comparison videos. With my screen maximized, I still can't tell to hell how good these textures are.
Well, that's what happens when you only use 1/4 of the total screen to display the vid. It has nothing to do with the resolution but the format they choosed for the comparison, which is lame (full screen side by side would have been better).
@kowen: I don't know what to say. I haven't watched the vids because I'm at work. Maybe it's a weird combination of you displaying the vid in a non-native res for your PC and the compression of the original signal to be displayed using only 1/4 of the screen. Or that they have used a crappy device to capture the vids.
Please excuse my bad English.

generally when i "upgrade" i have this crazy expectation that the new device is actually ..better.
what you are showing is technical differences smaller than between several 360/ps3 multiplats. come back when you have anything at all that actually looks like a generational leap in technology.
"Remember: while being on par with PS360 Wii U is ALSO streaming to the GamePad. That's something neither of PS3 or Xbox360 would have been able to do. Nuff said."
Remember: i have 1 set of eyes and won't be looking at the gamepad nor does the gamepad do anything to enhance the gameplay. the gamepad is completely worthless in the games you posted. i don't give bonus points to pointless features. Nuff said.
Hey, awesome launch games...
your video aren't showing up for me. but i'll wager you are showing off bad looking launch games. ..in general those exists.
...but every other launch has a least 1 game that makes you go wow. for the 360 it was kameo. got to 3:43 where the reviewer states "kameo is really a showcase for the xbox 360 so if you've been wondering whether next generation games are really going to look all that much better the answer is yes if kameo is any indication".
so does wiiU have a kameo? is there even 1 game for the wiiU that will make me go wow? i'd love for you to show me that game. one would think zombieU would be that game being exclusively built for wiiU and all ... but it isn't.
As a layman, I pay too much attention to time and when a system is released compared to others...don´t know if I should, but what I mean is, I´m baffled that a system that´s released 6/7 years later actually is weaker in some aspects.I keep thinking slower CPU, slower RAM, etc..should not happen, considering how many years have passed.

But why do graphics have to be the only source of greatness or progress? I think Kameo is actually a bad example, because while it looked gorgeous it wasn't a terrific experience gameplay wise. A generational leap need not be limited only to graphics.

Haha LoL! CoD 2 and 3 actually were the games I picked yes :p
Kameo was developed by Rare, so it's a first party game. And first party games on the Wii U is developed by... Nintendo. And we all know they don't care too much about graphics, so I think that's the problem. And ZombiU isn't a showcase for a number of reasons. I think (well, I hope) that Bayo2 will be able to wow HD-players! Or at least go, "not bad!". I understand and agree that right now, there isn't anything graphically to convince HD-gamers to pick up the Wii U, except game play. But it should be clear that Wii U at least isn't weaker.
