I don't think he meant it in a personal sense as in to call out. It's more of an interesting comparison than anything else. If it was one user's comment -> another user's comment then yes that would be silly. But when you have a number of people slandering something for being a rip-off, then in another thread having a number of people not slandering a game for being rip-off, it is interesting.

It's like saying, a game that people think is good it's fine to rip-off another game, but if the game is bad then it's a terrible thing to do.

It's also interesting that God Of War series is highly respected by PS fans and a Sony exclusive and likely the better game Vs Dante's Inferno, and SSB series less respected by PS fans and a Nintendo exclusive but likely the better game Vs PSABR. If you just take the stats adding it all up, it's "interesting".

Yeah, you understood perfectly what I meant.

What personally saddened me back in the day was how easily many Sony fans dismissed an excellent hacknslash adventure. Dante's Inferno was clearly a rip-off of God of War, no one denies that, but it was a very good rip-off. I love Dante's Inferno.

excellent HS? I thought it was pretty mediocre to be honest. No where near the other H&S greats. Different opinions I guess.

Uhg, back from work. Have been playing PSASBR for the last 3 hrs. Its pretty fun but I think its time for P4G now :). I will give my assessment of the game.

-AllStars is noticably balanced from the second I picked a character and used him/her in the tutorial modes. It feels so intricate. I have played SB before and have never been a fan due to feelings of vastly over powered characters(Link), and completly bizarre levels that shift around too much for me to ever get a footing on how to fight in the terrain. I do not feel this way at all about this game. The levels themselves pose an obstacle to getting to your main goal, but never feels too in the way.

-As great as the gameplay actually is, there is a complete lack of effort put into the design of the game. Menus feel flat. Characters only give small hints of their personalities if any at all. And I think most offensive of all is how the characters lack a cohesive design ideal. This game was obviously developed on a very strict deadline. The start screen, main menu, and battle set up all look very...basic. Heck, the cover of the game looks basic. The ripped right from game character art comes off looking cheap, and makes the non fluent art style of the characters more apparent. Luckily, once you get into battle tho this becomes a non issue.

Love the character training mode, really helps me master characters with ease. I read in some of the reviews that one complaint was not being able to see what combos are available. I don't see what they are talking about because there definitely is. Play styles of each character feel distinct and well suited for the characters....except sackboy's move set but that might just be me personally.

When it comes down to the game, what it has and what it doesn't, its still about the fighting at the end of the day and I must say it is on "point". I need to expiriment around somemore with the different modes and go thru all the stories, I will let you know about that later.

So far, 8.3/10

Thought it would be in the low 80s. O well.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

M!Games gave it a 70. Reason: No playable character from Ape Escape.

I thinkk SONY pushed for this game to get here by this holiday and it shows. Superbot really put all of the effort behind gameplay and didn't dedicate much resources (to be more specific: time) to the presentation. I'm personally ok with it if that's what happened. The game is fun. The menu's get the job done very well and aesthetics can be improvded easily with patches later. Same can't simply be said for a bad game.

They've said that they plan to monitor the game and balance is of course something they're keeping in mind but I do hope they go all out in support for the game. Not just DLC characters, but a better menu, more taunts, intros & outros, new titles, new icons, etc. It's got the core tools to be a great multiplayer game for years.

Link is actually one of the worst character in Brawl and Melee. Also, from what I've experienced there's more shifting and interacting in All-Stars' levels than in Brawl.

Fixed. I've noticed that for certain stages, Hazards end after a while. Invasion and LBP/Buzz stage specifically. haven't played the other stages enough on non-timed mode. Certain stages like Invasion and Dojo don't shift much at all, but then you have the loco roco stage which maybe the most active thing i've seen since Big Blue in Melee.

Cool. The game is still very fun. I want to get a little better at it before I dive into online play and get my ass wooped [-_-']

I believe Link is currently the third worst character in the game, just above Zelda and Ganondorf.  I'm actually baffled as to how anyone can even think Link is overpowered.  I mean, I could sort of see how an amateur character might think that someone like Ike is overpowered, but Link has nothing even remotely broken about him...

Oh, and I don't get any complaints about wacky stages.  If you don't like wacky stages just pick FD, Smashville, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island, etc.

And claiming any game is balanced after a mere 3 days on the market is just ridiculous.  We won't know how balanced or unbalanced the game is until skilled players push the limits of the various characters.  Nobody took Marth seriously until Ken picked him up in Melee, and MK's dominance didn't become really apparent till about half a year into Brawl.

This seems to be a pattern though.  People who don't really know a lot about Brawl making baseless claims to show how different or better PSAllstars is.  If you're enjoying PSAll-Stars, then that's great, but no need to bash a game you're not very experienced in.

Not from my expeience in those games. I have a couple of friends who play in competitions for the game. They always own everyone with Link, Kirby, and Luigi ...... And from what I am told they are  S Teir fighters.
