Sony locked out of  japan that is the biggest croc of BS this side of FOX NEWS lol. Sony is from japan WTF! Sony will never be locked out of a country that they came from buddy! Where do these people come up with this crap. We will see the fate of nintendo this gen there a flash in the pan gamemaker when there hot with a gimmick it sells. I personally think the wii u will fair well but leave sony out of it they are entrenched worldwide and not going anywhere especially in japan.

Yes. Obviously Japanese people will buy Sony just because y'know ... they're a Japanese company. No other factors could possibly be relevant.

About as relevane as your post...................Sony being locked out of japan is one of the more laughable things a nintendo fan has said.

Obviously Sony HQ shares your coginitive dissonance (people will buy stuff from us just because we're Sony! Awesome strategy!).

It's why they haven't posted a profit since the George W. Bush years, lol and are largely irrelevant in the modern consumer electronics world.

That is  a weak trolling attempt, and nothing to do with the topic.

I'm simply stating facts. You wanted to argue this point, I'm just responding to the points being made, which are fairly easy to shoot down.

There was no facts in any of your post. Just weak trolling. So you got facts Sony will be locked out of Japan lmao?

Nintendo doesn't even offer to the same base demographic that Sony does. Sony taps into multimedia as well as casual and core gaming. Now Sony and Microsoft are sharing 140 consoles between them. That is closer to Sonys marketshare than Nintendo will ever be.

If I'm Nintendo honestly my goal is to finish a solid no.2.

If you can turn the Wii U into a break-out blockbuster craze like the Wii was six years ago, great, that's a nice to have.

But as a fall back plan, I'd be prepping to really leverage that year-long head start and cheaper price point to get a comfy no.2 spot for the majority of the next gen cycle as a minimum.

I'm not going to lose sleep if I'm Nintendo if MS is going to release some monster console that costs $600 to manufacture and they're willing to take a loss on it to basically "buy" their way into no.1.

Based on recent trends, yes.

I don't even think most Japanese developers can afford to develop a lot of PS4/720 content. Even today Epic stated that dev costs for next-generation are going to be at least double this generation (and this may be a generous estimate given that it's in their best interest to downplay dev costs as they want to sell their engine to as many devs as possible).

Right now, I think most devs in Japan are barely scraping by to be able to make games on PS3/360 budgets, doubling that is basically going to be a zero sum game for many Japanese franchises not named Final Fantasy or Resident Evil.

So exactly what are the PS4/720 supposed to sell off of in Japan? Western games? Japan is going increasinly handheld centric, Wii U is probably the last, best hope for consoles having any future in Japan, and even that I think is far from a gaurunteed success.

BWHAHAHA

Sony will have ansd always had japanese games. Thats not changing, based on trends PS4 will sell well just like 1 2 and 3 did. Any proof most japanese devs aree scraping by? Heck sony owns many japanese developers. Your post is laughable at best. No proof and wild baseless speculation froma  biased N fan says iut all.

Last I checkd many PSn games are by japanese devs and been wildly successfull. MAybe stop thinking ps4 and xbox only have retail, live and PSn destroy any Nintendo offering.

Sales indicate the Wii only bolstered first party sales for the Wii. Their third party sales were not great for core titles, meaning only Nintendo loyalists and some casuals will get a kick out of this. Meanwhile the PS3 and 360 gained loyal followings for their online support, multimedia offerings and exclusives. The Wii U is going for the core now and they are a little late, so lets see how good their exclusives do. Hopefully it turns out well because I will be getting one myself. I've always wanted an HD Zelda.

It can sell well, but still be in ... third place for example. Which is where I see Sony next-gen. MS will rise, Nintendo will drop but the head start and pricing advantage they have (as well as being more financially stable/having no debt) I think will keep Nintendo in no.2.

Miiverse is a monstrous upgrade from what Nintendo had last generation, which was basically garbage, so that's less of an advantage for Sony/MS this next cycle, not more. You can't get any more lopsided than it was the last two generations where Nintendo basically didn't even try.

Whats next weeks lotto numbers?> No one can predict anything. No one predicted wii dominating and ps3 finishing third last gen, and you wont predict what happens next gen please. The rambling of a nintendo fan. No head start and price advantage for MS = instant win for sony.

I'm a Nintendo fan because I think Microsoft will beat a weakened and financially bleeding Sony? LOL, ok.

I am a Nintendo fan and a Sony fan actually, but that's because of Super Mario and Final Fantasy VII, just for the record.
