And Sony is trying to sell us Smash Bros Brawl at $60, when you could just get it for Wii for half that price.

:P

Id rather play as sony characters than with the Nintendo Characters that my 5 year old brother seems to enjoy.

I'd rather play as widely recognised characters than ones that are desperately scrounged up in order to fill a full roster.

First party nintendo games almost never go down in price until very late in their life. This is nothing new. Think of them like cars with high resale value.

Doesn't help that Nintendo didn't release a "Greatest Hits" line until years into the generation.

Supply-demand.

Maybe Sony wouldn't have to slash their software prices like that if their characters were as popular as Mario or Pokemon or DK or Zelda or whatever.

I get the feeling sales of games like LBP and Uncharted are highly inflated because Sony price crashes them quickly and/or bundles them with everything they can think of (even Dual Shock controllers).

LittleBigPlanet is a solid game with some interesting ideas, but when it comes to core platforming and level design, I'll take Mario every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

You think Nintendo/Smash fanboys would be excited to play a game with the same genre...

nope....they're all sheeps. Thats why they wont complain about paying $60 for a game when its 2 years old

jokes on the haters because i'll be enjoying both games. If you played it like i have you'll immediately notice it is not like smash and very very much indepth maybe more so (actually...it is). You play the game like smash, you'll die.

Im not outraged by the data and learning that a half hearted Mario platformer is holding its value well. I outraged by the fact that Nintendo made a half hearted Mario platformer in the first place. This game was their chance to envoke a sense of mission and gain some hardcore and loyal fans. But they failed epically. Beating the game was a walk in the park for me, had it done in 7 days. The graphics werent nearly pretty enough, the music in the game made me wanna cry. I actually played portions of it on mute. After playing Mario Galaxy head to toe I have seen and experienced what incredible things Nintendo can pull off and it just feels like they didnt sincerely try with NSMB Wii. It felt like a product rushed out to make all the fickle casual gamers happy and make them feel like they were a real gamer for a minute.

Also another point of failure on Nintendo's part is that they didnt include some type of in game explination of the affects of playing Wii on a HDTV with standard def cables. The wise amongst us know that this causes a slight lag between button presses on the controller and reaction on screen. I knew of several people who were complaining how hard the first world was and I was like. WTF??? then I asked about their cable set up situation and sure enough these idiots were running standard def cables on their hdtv's. Imagine how many people encountered this and were probably very turned off to the Mario Experience as a result.

Nintendo gets a pass these days thanks to nostalgia. It's a very powerful drug. If you look at NSMB Wii/U without it, and compare it to say, SMW, it's obvious how inferior it is. Fun game, as Mario will always be "fun", but nothing like it was back when it was the king of innovation.

Oh, and on a side note, Super Meat Boy is my new Mario.
