Forums - Microsoft - Failure of Reach been undone with Halo 4?

No spoilers here.. Dont worry

In Halo:Reach. I and many many Halo fans has been disppointed by Bungie's progression with Halo. We knew that by Reach, Halo has reached a low-point in the franchise. Since then, as halo fans, we feared of the demise of the Halo franchise.

This fear reached a cressendo when Bungie announced that they no longer were the developers if Halo but 343I instead. But all these fear and doubt were quickly proven wrong with the release of Halo 4.

After finishing the campaign. I believe as a Halo fan. The new breed of developers has somehow managed to over come the bar with Halo 4. The bar which has been set so highly by Bungie in Halo 2 and 3. I also belive that 87 is wrong.

Halo 4 is not only a redemption. Halo 4 is the new epitome of the franchise.

What do you think?

Yay!!!

Is Halo 4 better than Reach? Hell yes.
Was Reach a failure? Hell no.

Reach was an utter disappointment for me.

Yay!!!

It feels strange that I'm only hearing so much criticism of Bungie and previous Halo games now. I really can't recall much of it previously.

I agree that Halo 4 is the pinnacle of Halo (in terms of campaign, at least). However, Reach is still awesome, so I don't really agree with you about it being a low point of the franchise. That title belongs to ODST.

Can't wait to see the sales...

I heard Halo 4 was really disappointingly short.

6-8 hours?

Yay!!!

As someone who had more fun playing the Reach beta than the full game, I agree with OP, but its not as good as the original trilogy.

I've heard that Reach is one of the best. It's the one I'm considering playing first too.
