I don't mean to take away from the SIII's success, but is the iPhone 5 supply constrained in the UK?

I live in the US and I've been trying to get my hands on an iPhone 5 for literally (no exaggeration here) 2 months and still no luck. Apple/Verizon have zero in stock and you need to order them in advance.

iPhone 5 is supply constrained everywhere. 3-4 weeks shipping in both US and UK if you buy from Apple (who will ship it straight from China).

Also, these numbers are just one region, just one month, and since these guys are breaking down phones by SKU, it's worth noting that SGS3 will be split between four SKUs (2 colours, two storage tiers) while iPhone 5 is split by six (2 colours, 3 tiers).

Interesting. I wonder how much is supply constraint and how much is the popularity of the S3. Both are great phones but I don't like the big-screened Android phones (but I told my dad to buy an S3... came back with a One X instead, but whatever... old people suck at technology).

I fucking HATE HTC Sense. It's awful.

I stopped to read here "according to the latest uSwitch.com Mobile Tracker which is based on live searches, pre-orders and pay monthly sales".

uSwitch.com is not a tracked sales service... is a deal popularity tracker.

So S3 have more people searching (or buying it) for deals... of course iPhone is released two weeks ago, there are no good deals for it yet.

Proved wrong fast lol.

OT:

Not gonna spin, I didn't see that coming. Here's hoping it's supply constrained cuz I am an Apple fanboy and this affects my mood!

Galaxy SII is outselling 4s, that's also impressive.

This is wrong.

I don't understand this thinking. Why does it matter if your phone sells the most? Just as long as the phone is popular enough to receive solid third party app support, does it really matter who "wins" after that?

I bought an iPhone because it served my needs better than any other phone out there (small package but still top-shelf hardware). The branding on the box doesn't matter to me past the fact that it meant I could run all the iPad apps I bought (well, most anyway) and all my old iPhone apps I purchased in 2008-09.

You'll be a much happier consumer if you disavow allegiance to companies and instead buy whatever product most fits your needs.

It's because every iPhone owners knows the galaxy SIII is a better cooler phone that's worth the money. while the iPhone 5 is just a slightly better version of the 4s and the 4s is just a slightly better version then the iPhone 4

As an iPhone owner apple need to step it up, or lower there prices.
