The more I think about it the more it should stay the same. I'm all for a touchscreen inclusion....but they can just use Vita and have it be an optional controller scheme and feed off of Wii U multiplat development to ensure compatibility. That and one touchscreen is going to be the norm, two will be occasional.
The Daulshock needs to fix the R2/L2 triggers by either making them concave or something else to make it feel better, the resistance maybe? Though I like the D-Pad, I wouldn't be against a Vita like D-Pad. I like the Daulshock D-Pad, it is really easy to select individual buttons and switch between left and right. There could be bigger handles on the side that might fix the comfort issues some people have, but as is you can easily reach every single button, like the PS button in the center.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Leave it as is! Iv been using the controller since 1997 and it hasn't changed much since then so why change it now its fine.

the D-pad and action buttons are preassure sensitive, so no clicky for you XD |
I know that the pressure sensitity never really had a good use, but I think it makes pushing the buttons down really nice. Even if they don't do anything in the game. It is nice to have some give on the buttons as opposed to in and out with or without clicks. They could easily remove the pressure sensitity but keep the resistance to the buttons and I'd be just as happy.

A little bit bigger, concave triggers (L2/R2), perhaps one new button at the back, improve motion sensing, more durable analog sticks.

Tell me why X, which is the universal sign for "no," is considered "yes" on the dualshock? And why is circle, the universal "yes," considered "no" on the dualshock?
Admit it, the button layouts and their silly codes are not even intuitive by nature.

Not crappy triggers.
Better contoured
I find the x360 controller more comfortable. The main difference between the two is the analogue stick layout. And my preference on which layout varies game to game.
So make the analogue stick and d-pad swappable!

in japan the confirm button is usually circle not x.

I honestly don't think much needs to be changed. The controller is pretty much perfect in terms of design, although a few tweaks could be implemented. The R2/L2 triggers should be concave, or changed somehow. I do think some kind of material or something could be put on the grips, since they could get slippery in long play sessions.
