iPhone sell way more than Galaxy. It's like 100k iPhones per year vs. 30-40k Galaxy.

I think iPhone 5 already outsold Galaxy S3.

PS. Galaxy S3 outsold iPhone 4 in one month in US only... the month before the iPhone 5 launch (August).

Niche? Wow, this thread was created with the sole purpose of trolling Apple.

Of course, Videogames are niche too, as TVs, Radios, PCs and Refrigerators really have most of the marketshare.

I think you need to check your numbers again its just a few days ago that they had a news story on how the Galaxy is the best selling smart phone and how it destroys the iPhone in sales. 

Isn't this a little misleading though? iPhone 5 was released towards the end of Q3 meaning most people probably were holding off on getting an iPhone for most of the quarter, and the new model was also supply constrained.

That said I think Apple does need to get more aggressive and offer more choices.

Release a 5 inch iPhone Pro next spring, with best in class battery life and revamp iOS to be a sexier interface with more customization, with improved Siri and maps. More colors too, metallic silver/chrome would be cool. If the iPad mini can work reasonably well in one hand with an 8 inch screen, a 5 inch screen for iPhone should be more than doable Apple.

Same with the iPad, mix the iPad with the Macbook Air to create an iPad Pro line, something to directly take on the Windows RT tablets (detachable keyboard cover, USB 3.0 and/or Thunderbolt port, word processor for productivity, etc.).

Galaxy only outsold iPhone because in people are waiting the iPhone 5 release in September.

And that is US only.

Again Galaxy will sell 30-40k this year with three months ahead... iPhone 5 is to sell over 50k.

You can defend Galaxy in anyway but everybody knows iPhone crush Galaxy in sales by A LOT.

Of the 136 million Android phones shipped in 3 quater of 2012 I'm guessing that 50 million are Galaxy's in one way or a another.  It it really makes you happy to think that 26.9>50 then you can live with that but I'm sure the numbers that where presented in that new story on tv where acurate.

In July 2012 dua a Samsung-Applet Trial the US court forces both company to disclose all data about smartphone sales... the Galaxy acounted near 40% all smartphones sold.

Can you show me the magic the Galaxy jump from 40% to 90% os Samsung sales in one quarter???

In the best case the Galaxy brand sold 25k units in Q3.

The top Galaxy seller (S3) was expected to sell 15 million in Q3 (Samsung not showed the numbers)... all previous Galaxy S sold (June 2012 figures) 24 million units since it was launched in 2010.

You do realize that they have different models of Galaxy phones and not even close to 90% of those 56.9 million phones have to be Galaxy phones in oder to be more then 26.9 million.   Also I just read an article that said that the Galaxy S3 is the best selling smart phone in the UK for the last six month.  Or how about this article on Forbes it clearly shows that the Galaxy is beating the iPhone.

Again... all Galaxy models together accounts around 40% of Samsung smartphone sales... you said Galaxy sold 50 million last quarter (that 90%) and that's number is not true. The UK report is from September... iPhone 5 was launched in 21st... 10 days in the market vs. 30 days for Galaxy S3... and the research didn't account SIM-free phones.

Prolly pointed out, but Android is a platform and not a phone.

There's loads of Android handsets and only a few "Apple" ones....and obviously Apple owns all those "Apple" handsets...
