The problems that I see with Android are the updatability of the mobiles. Samsung have a huge range of Galaxy based mobiles ranging from the Galaxy Y to the Ace to the S range and Note. I can see that more than likely most of the sales will be coming from the lower end of the scale ie. the Y and Ace range. These mobiles currently run on Android 2.2 and 2.3, hence the reason why most of the Android users are in this range (2.3 Gingerbread).
It will be interesting to see what happens next, seeing as the market has been flooded with cheap mobiles on PAYG running Gingerbread and it seems that the more expensive models seem to be running 4.0+
How will developers deal with this....will they continue to release Apps that run on Gingerbread and up, or will they start releasing Ice Cream Sandwich and up compatible versions? It seems that users are leaning towards a 4.0+ environment, so if developers move towards this over the coming months, does this mean that Millions of Android users will be alienated and left behind?
