the 360 doesn't have a 70m active install base.. ohh dear god, i swear when someone is hyped about a game, they lose all sense of realism.

what console does have a 70 mill active base all at the one time?

Wii would be the closest, but the 360 doesn't have an active 70m install base, so what he said is total m00t, i think the number he should have said is around 46-52m

Plus halo outselling black ops 2 in north america? that's... i'm just speachless that anyone could actually think that.

Where did you pull the 46 to 52 million out from?

Just a guess, remember you have to consider rrod, and 360 owners that switched to ps3 owners, so i believe the number would be close to that.

hmm don't know, most rrod console should still run anywhere as repaired version or with the towel trick (my rrod console which broke few months after the 3 years warranty still runs for 3,5 years now at a friends home as repaired version) and people who switched consoles should have sold it to someone else most of the time or gave it away for free.

but yeah, there are always people who put the console away and let it collect dust or collectors who own different limited editions and so on. i would still think maybe 55 million xboxes are running anywhere at least ocassionally but we can all only guess here.

I'm the most troll ever. I deserve the most bans. I also post nothing but rubbish and spam on this site. But! I am not ban so the mods are the most leniant. In other words, hi.

So why did this thread become like a deathstar when I am obviously the most star-trek fan ever?

Cos im a star wars and a star trak fan maybe?.

The force was incompatible until trekkie technobabble mitochlorines were installed by George Lucas. Until then it was impossible to be both a Star Wars fan and Star Trek fan at the same time.

I see. So what am i?, i feel so lost

Don't worry George Lucas will rewrite history once again with Star Wars to make everything make sense again. You just have to accept that nothing makes sense before everything makes sense, it's a Star Trek talent so if you have this talent you can call yourself both a Star Trek and Star Wars fan at the same time.

I was tired of COD after '06, but I was tired of Halo after...1.

(Also: haha, 70-million owners! More like 50-million owners and 20-million owners again thanks to RROD!)

(Yes, go ahead fanboys, pee yourself with rage over my affront to your god.)

Halo 4 will obviously be huge.

10-12M sales lifetime seem likely.

Keep dreaming. Halo Reach hasn't even reached 10mil.

Halo 4 is tracking BELOW Reach in pre-orders....common sense tells me that Halo 4 will be lucky to reach 9million lifetime.(since Xbox 720 is coming holiday '13)

Are you Pyro2000x from youtube?

Randomly making up how many consoles you think have permanetly broken is not a good way to judge install bases.

People who use their consoles buy games. http://www.vgchartz.com/yearly/2011/Global/ 360 still sells more software yearly than the ps3. Thus the 360 probably has a bigger install base than the ps3. It's impossible to say just how big that number is, unless we get data on how many games a year the average person gets who actively uses his console.
