BenVTrigger confirmed a month ago that Halo 4 pre-orders already broke the million mark at Gamestop.

We had Halo 4 at 700k at that point. He further added that Gamestop accounts for approx. 80% of all pre-orders in the US. Therefore the pre-order numbers should've been at ~1.2m at that point. 7 weeks from launch.

Now our Halo Reach numbers might be quite wrong as well, though they had been 630k with 7 weeks to go.

I don't see how I'm supposed to belive this random forum user.....sure he seems like a nice guy from his comments but that doesn't mean he can be trusted. His comments are something to consider, not fact.

it's not a random user, it's a long time user who works at Gamestop and knows their numbers.

If that's not enough for you he said the 360 versions of Black Ops 2 and Asassin's Creed III already reached the million BEFORE this and this source showed up.

We have Black Ops 2 lower than MW3, yet this has proven to be wrong. (by BenVTrigger and later by the Gamestop president)
We had Revelations at ~500k for the 360 version and again the Gamespot president says that Assassins Creed 3 has 100% higher pre-orders than the last game. Which should mean 1m for the 360 version.

Doesn't sound like a coincidence, especially since no one else expected that Assassin's Creed III was undertracked.

-It's a random user. Until he uses his real name then I can't fully trust everything he says. How does he have access to these numbers anyway? What position does he hold in the company?

-Wait, he says the 360 version of AC3 ALONE reached 1mil? That's....odd. Were those his exact words? If this BenVtrigger is to be trusted, that would mean that VgChartz Pre-order charts are completely useless. I know VgChartz data is just estimated but...this is just too much.

Should I trust someone hiding behind a forum name or VgChartz, a website that has proven it is at least semi-accurate...hmmm

Im all for using vgchartz to support things, but there is a line between using parts to support your argument and blindly following parts that have strong evidence that points to the contrary. Many games, in your case PS3 games, are undertracked on vgchartz. They should be higher but Im sure youd just take the number given to you and swear by it? Hope you see the point I am trying to make.

But going back on the real topic, Halo 4 holding top spot at amazon, what is your real purpose in implying that Halo 4 preorders are below Halo 4? Doesn't change the thread title now does it?

It seems to me, given your allegiance is to Sony, that by inferring that Halo 4 preorders are lower then Reach, that the series is in decline. This revelation would give someone of your persuasion some pleasure im sure. But let me point out these are preorder numbers that no PS3 exclusive can match, so im sorry to have to kick you off the anti Halo wagon.

Oh no, I am not "blindly following" anything. Especially not VgChartz data. But like I said, VgChartz actually HAS DATA TO FOLLOW. BenVTrigger doesn't. He just says "This game is undertracked, trust me".

Many games on PS3 are undertracked? Yeah, I know. Some are overtracked as well, same goes for 360. What's your point? It has already been established that VgChartz is pure estimates.

Halo 4 pre-orders were tracking below Reach at the time that I wrote those comments. I was just pointing that out.

@bold
Allegiance to Sony? Nope. Preference? Yes.
Yes, the Halo series has been in decline ever since Halo 3, as the sales clearly point out. Halo Reach has yet to outsell Halo 3.(it has no chance). There is a good chance that Halo 4 won't outsell Reach especially with Black Ops 2 hitting 1 week from now and this generation being over within the year. Sorry, just an educated guess. Didn't mean to offend you.

You're right, no PS3 exclusive will match Halo 4 pre-orders, what's your point? How is this relevant to the discussion? Just pure flamebait. Reported.

Not really. Its just common sense that any negative things to say about 360 including Halo are meant to elevate you on your stance about PS3 in doing so. It would be flamebait if you were a neutral poster but clearly you are a big supporter of Playstation so I think I was right to assume you point out negatives to make you feel better about your own tastes. Relax

You're right. I shouldn't have pointed that out. I should have just praised Halo 4 like the next coming of Jesus.
/sarcasm

You want my honest opinion about Halo 4? Here it is.(keep in mind I haven't played it)

Long story short: Amazing exclusive FPS on Xbox 360.(from the looks of it). Nothing revolutionary here though.

Stills number 1 at Amazon even though its already out, mouth spread will be big with this game since its the best FPS every created.

Numer 5 overall Rank 2012.

Black Ops 2 is 10 at Amazon i dont think it will sell better than Halo 4 on Amazon this year wich is unbeliavable.

Finnally Black Ops 2 has surprassed Halo 4 on Amazon best sellers list.

LOl, it only took 4 hours from your previous post. ^

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
