First off Halo Reach and GT5 sales aren't even are fair comparison:
- Reach only sold in 2011 and 2012 due to extensive bundling with 4 other games. But since we do not know how much it sold in bundles we can't assume GT5 sold more standalone copies

- GT5 was bundled maybe once and is outselling Reach by a large margin on a weekly basis despite Halo Reach being bundled like hell.

Now for GT6 vs Halo 4:
We have no information at all about GT6 whereas Halo 4 is getting a large amount of hype at the moment due to its launch being only a couple weeks away. If GT6 comes too late in the PS4 cycle it will struggle to sell 7.5 million copies and

Reach bundles were digital and we don't track them. Makes 60% of your post invalid.

A real comparison would be GT6 and Halo 5 as both launch titles and in that case there would be many factors for example:
- Which console is selling better
- The quality of the game etc.

So in reality this an unfair comparison that makes no sense at all
Note: To the people that are comparing Forza to GT lets start comparing Killzone to Halo

gran turismo 5 was bundled more than once

Apples and oranges. Are you making this comparison only because they are the biggest exclusives on their respective platforms?

Pretty much.

Gt5 has had far more than 1 bundle... The UK alone has had around 4 different bundles that include physical copies of GT5.  Not to mention countless rereleases. Though I do think Halo Reach is overtracked in vgchartz. Vgchartz numbers dont add up with npd which would make sense if the game is bundled. But the majority of halo reach bundles are digital copies so vgchartz shouldn't be counting them either.

Anyway Halo 4 should easily outsell GT6 if GT6 ends up releasing on the ps3 unless Halo 4 ends up selling significantly less than Halo Reach, because GT6 will surely have lower sales than GT5.

If GT6 comes out on the ps4, then it should be compared to Halo 5 on the nextbox in which case the game that will sell better entirely depends on which console ends up "winning" next gen.

GT6 has absolutely no chance at outselling Halo 4.

Halo is just getting bigger whilst Gran Turismo has been on a decline since GT3, even that game was only really big because it was MASSIVELY bundled in North America. GT5 shows a massive decline since it's predecessor, it will be lucky to reach 9 million now and it is only going to decline further unless Sony start mass bundling the series again... and make sure the game's at an acceptable standard before it releases and doesn't take more than 3 years to make.

Also Halo: Reach is probably really close to Halo 3 if you include its digital sales. Remember that Xbox 360 bundle with Fable 3 and a digital copy of Halo: Reach last year? Fable 3 sold roughly 1.4 million due to that bundle which means that bundle has pushed Halo: Reach to about 10.6 million. Then if you consider everyone who bought Halo: Reach digitally outside of the bundle the game must have sold at least 11-11.5 million copies to date making it easily on track to pass Halo 3.

Racing genre isn't doing very good right now.

But I guess it is possible. It all depends on what GT6 offers and how close/far it launches from PS4 release. It would do amazing in Europe no doubt. It's America I'm worried about.

Another Gran Turismo would definitely increase the PS3s life though! I'm sure Sony has been considering it.

There are like what? 5 Halo games on Xbox 360? Yearly releases help keep franchises in the public eye.

Gran Turismo doesn't have that luxury. Only Prologue and GT5. A GT6 is guaranteed to outsell V. With the bigger PS3 install base and lower cost entry point for PS3.

There is something that Gran Turismo has over Halo, it is still king of its genre.(sorry Forza).

"On the PS2

GT3 released to an install base of around 15M and went on to sell 15M.

GT4 released to an install base of around 80M and went on to sell 11M.

On the PS

GT released in 97 and went on to sell 11M

GT2 released 2 years later and sold 9M in total."

Looking at this info I think it's safe to say GT6 is more likely to outsell GT5 if it's on the PS4 early rather than on the PS3 late.

There is something that Gran Turismo has over Halo, it is still king of its genre. Very debatable.
