Guys the psp has BETTER GAMES, just not as much as the DS.

If you want to play barbie world, and mario go DS

If you want to play MGS, KH, FF VII, Star ocean, or other amazing looking games like star wars go psp.

Personally

psp> DS

In games. And every thing else, DS is just cheap and has mario.

Leo-j, stop trolling, you already gave your opinion on the subject (4 times). Don't post in this topic again when you have nothing new to add. This is your warning.

here's what I think.

Try a PSP, Honestly, there is a reason why only 12% of PSP owners own a DS, because once you go PSP, you won't go back. ;)

PSP give you PS2 graphics on the go, if you are a HUGE Metal Gear fan, go with PSP..

if you want to play same games you played on GBA (or GB for that matter,), a game with almost identical engine from 10-15 years ago, Buy a DS and get your Pokemon Pearl. ;)

Uh, yeah, where to start. It's great that you like your PSP and all, but the DS does far more than the GBA, and the Pokemon games run on a 3D world engine, and a much better resolution 2D engine in combat. It's hardly the only game on the DS worth buying either. Say what you want about the PSP, and present support for your argument, but don't talk crap about a system you don't own and know nothing about.

Btw, if only 12% of PSP owners own a DS, then that means 5.5% of DS owners own a PSP... didn't quite think that one through did ya Genius.  You also definitely don't want to get into a discussion about sales paterns determinging quality, because more than just the clear hardware advantage the DS has almost twice the attach rate of the PSP, which has the lowest attach rate in recorded video game history.

DS plays your GBA games. Even better, many new DS games at only $10-$20. Seriously, DS games costs less than GBA games did 4 years ago. It is great to see the cost of games go down!

currently playing: Desktop Tower Defense (PC), Puzzle Quest (DS), Trauma Center New Blood (Wii), Guitar Hero III (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), Actraiser (SNES), Donkey Kong County (SNES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Kirby's Adventure (NES)

will play next: Paper Mario (N64), Golden Axe II (Sega), NiGHTS (Wii)

Just beware: If you're getting a DS, they're sold out EVERYWHERE. I looked around at no less than 5 stores today, ranging from a mall Gamestop to Best Buy to Target, and ALL were sold out. (Well okay, the Gamestop had a couple of pink DS's in. But like hell I'm going to play a pink DS in public...)

I'll probably just end up ordering the damn thing from Amazon.

Yeah, I checked around, and everything is sold out. The PSP is selling well around here too, because I couldn't find any in stores around here either.

Great post CrazzyMan. Finally someone providing him with information instead of opinion.

That said, my opinion is that they are both great, and it really depends on which genres you prefer. I own both, and like both, but play my DS more because my favorite genres are RPGs, Platformers, and Action-Adventure games.

So, the DS is more for RPGs and Platformers, and the PSP is more for shooter and racing games? curse my lack of money...

hmm, I do own a DSL, and I still have it,

Oh come on, such a light jab, there's no need to go all out with insults. ;)

Yes, that's correct. The PSP has great handheld FPS games. The DS is pretty lacking in that category, but MP:H is decent. The PSP also has a ton of very well designed racers ranging from both simulation style to arcade style. The DS has Mario Kart as a great racing game, but that's about it, and it doesn't havea  good sim style game.

The DS has Mario and the first good Sonic and Megaman games in years as great platformers. It also has a ridiculous amount of RPGs (Square Enix has 19 games out and in production for the DS), and some great action-adventures like Zelda PH. Truthfully you'll only get the best of both worlds if you own both.
