Sure, why release your RPG on a console with a touch-pad screen controller, coming off a predecessor that is poised to sell 100 million units. That would make too much sense.

Both of those games were near the end of Wii's lifetime. |
Two years and a half after the Wii launch is not at the end of lifetime and MHtri was a new game not a port. And DQX announcement was also in 2009
Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

You can spin it that way, but I don't think the Wii's success is a good motivator considering both Tales games on the console did not sell big numbers.
| PhantomLink said: Remember that Wii also had a mainline non port MH and a DQ. MH audience is on handhelds not consoles. I don't think MH3U is gonna help Wii U getting more RPG (MH is not and RPG to begin with) . And Dragon Quest is an port of an online DQ, that's not gonna help much either. Perphaps DQXI (non online) would help but that's 3DS's bounded. When DQX was annouced for Wii a lot of people, including myself, thought that there's was going to be a lot of new RPG games for Wii but it didn't happen. |
actually Monster Hunter is considered an action role playing game or a-rpg. so basically its a type of rpg game. i looked it up.
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .

The Tales Studio probably don't want to commit a long development cycle into a system they do not fully believe will be successful.
Bandai Namco are willing to port Tekken because that is easy, Nintendo is probably paying them and giving them a shot to do the next Smash Bros. But the Tales studio is smaller and if they make a HD game on the Wii U and it doesn't do well they will probably be in bad shape. Literally, only one of their games (Abyss) probably ever did well enough to break even between Symphonia and Xillia. I don't blame them for being cautious, many studios around the world have gotten shut down in the last few years due to bad alliances and games.

One was a crappy spinoff and one was only released in Japan. I think an established franchise like Tales should at least sell decent on Wii U, if an entirely new IP like Xenoblade could put up strong numbers on Wii.

Yes, but the port of Graces did far better on the PS3 (390k vs. 220k). That's why it's not a good comparison.

How can you have 64K in the west when VGchartz shows a near 130K opening in the US alone? Can you share your NPD source?
| Soriku said: At best I can see a Tales of Symphonia Wii U remake I guess. |
I'm still not giving up on a WiiU Tales. I still believe we'll see it someday.
