Aliasing *drops mic*
Also, the textures are definitely better on the GC. There character are also less blocky.
I don't blame Capcom for porting RE4 to PS2.
Their job is to pay their own bills and look after their own shareholders, the GameCube failed to get a large userbase and missing out on the profit of a PS2 version would've been stupid on their part and damaged the franchise.
The PS2 version sold 3.6 million copies, which is more than double the GCN version, what's Capcom supposed to do, just ignore the $30-$40 million in profit they likely made off the PS2 version just to make Nintendo happy? It's not their fault Mikami started making bizarre promises in public like he'd cut his head off if the game came to PS2 (lol).
To the victor go the spoils and the PS2 whupped the GCN. Same thing this cycle with 3DS over Vita and Monster Hunter. Fanboys need to get over themselves, that's just smart business.
RE6 seems to be selling great too, so I doubt Capcom is all that worried about it. Even though it's not as "good" of a game, Resident Evil 5 outsold Resident Evil 4.
Fact is, Resident Evil is a series that's always sold best on Sony platforms, while doing very well on the XBox of late.
Woah, I completely missed this when quoting the article. I need to quote the rest.

First of all, Resident Evil 4 is not exclusive for GC. And yet still my favourite in the series.
I still play Re6, this is a really good game but not as great as RE4. I don't know why people keep complain about this game. This game is a package u can got a horror (leon) and action game(chris and jake).
I read a lot bad reviews about this game, and keep convincing me or us to not buy this game.

Thread creator's posting history didn't help. Thread creator taking the thing seriously didn't help. Thread creator only posting half the article without mentioning that there's more didn't help. Seeing the whole piece, it's obvious that it is satirical, because it goes into overdrive in the bottom half. |
You took it seriouly, not I. I've found it humorous the entire time.
The Factor 5 quote was the best.
"Factor 5 - The technical geniuses behind the Star Wars Rogue Squadron games, left Nintendo for Sony; where they created the disaster called LAIR and died."
None of the RE games on the GameCube really sold all that great to be honest. RE0 underperformed, RE Remake did so-so. RE4 did OK.
RE4 Wii capitalized on the cheap price point + early Wii frenzy I think.
RE: Revelations on 3DS did poorly.

If breaking a million sold underperformed, is soso or is okay then I feel sad for most of the devs on the HD consoles who made games that cost 3 times as much to develop but didn't even touch 1 million.
That would mean that they would need sell 3 million copies just to have soso success.
Only 3 RE games on the PS2 reach 1 million. The rest bombed.

Yeah, that defintely clear it up. It doens't just have aproblem with aliasing, but it lacks anisotrophic filtering as well apparently(the textures bend unnaturally like PS1 games). The texture bending doesn't occur on the GC. Its also more rounded like they added polygons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex2ar_tO75g&feature=relmfu
Oh, look what I found for RE3 on wiki "and enhanced 3D character model graphic"
