(1) Few of those actually have a PC that can run major games like Battlefield 3 or Crysis 3. People don't automatically get the most powerful PC in the shop. They are more like to buy a reasonably cheap PC as long as it meets their basics needs (surfing, working, etc.). People who have that kind of strong PC are PC gamers first who care little about consoles to begin with. (2) Not necessarily. With PC+WiiU, you miss the super-majority of japanese RPGs (Lightning Returns, Tales of Xillia 1&2, etc.) and I don't remember the PC version of Rising Revengeance and Ground Zeroes being confirmed either. |
My PC is 2 years old and I paid sub 500€ back then and it can run everything PS360 can but better. There is practically no computer today that couldn't run PS360 quality games. That's not a high end PC at all. I'm pretty sure I could get another 500€ PC in 2 years that could run all the PS720 games just fine.
Your second point is list wars. Of course there will be some games that people will miss out on but it could very well shift. Wii U could ensure with Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest that the majority of JRPG's shift back in Nintendo's direction. Ground Zeroes could very well go multiplat including Wii U and so could Rising. But even if not, I might have to cry myself to sleep not playing those games and settle for Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 instead. There will alwqays be games you are missing out on if you don't own all consoles but in my opinion, if you skip the Nintendo console, you are missing a lot more, especially with the Wii U if aou look how things are shaping up right now.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
