Its a stigma of public perception. They don't think Nintendo is about innovation, they think its a childish product that should've been grown out of. Ask him about what I am talking about, Nintendo has had this stigma for over twenty five years. Theres innovation on all platforms, but just ask your friend. Mentally in his head Nintendos competitors are the gradual step up. I think we here know better here even though that perception is the case.

Insecurity is a cornerstone of fanboyism. If you weren't insecure, you wouldn't feel the need to aggressively defend a platform and put down others.

Not true, it's called personal preference. You believe another product on its own delivers a superior product. For some it could be any of the three. The insecurity of fanboyism is wanting what the other person has that you don't have (exclusives), or in the insecurity in your value of what SHOULD be "fun" (public perception). The issue of Nintendo is they are considered the Disney of the gaming industry and if you asked the average person who they would buy a Nintendo product for they would say their wife or child where as on the purchasing scheme the competitors are dominated by males above the teenage age.  

Just send him a "please respond" to make sure he's still your friend.

Anyway, I don't see what you're all worked up about. You said, "sorry, I like innovation"? I would say that just to break someone's balls, but you appear to have said it earnestly, and you also appear to get defensive really easily.

They're just like, opinions, man. You don't need to get all hot and bothered by it.
I'm a ps3 fanboy, and everyone knows that from the start of my time here I've been a ps3 fanboy.
HOWEVER. I've always said that Nintendo always deserves a chance. I've always said that Nintendo failed the 'gamer' this gen, but never lost faith that they would release a system like this. I called it everytime, much to everyone's chagrin.

Long story short, games like zombiiU will (hopefully) be the kinds of games that make people change their mind about Nintendo. You don't need to be like "see? Innovation". Just remember that you were right, and be happy. Don't even ask them to play it.

ps3 seems more powerful until you try to play Fallout 3/NV or Skyrim on it, then it seems like cheap/faulty/difficult to program for hardware. It has some great games, but "power" isn't everything. Wii was the top dog in the 7th gen and it's the least powerful, not even in HD.
