Forums - Sales - I figured out why Xbox 360 owners buy more games than PS3 owners.

The Xbox just has a more diverse line up of games year after year and xbox fans as a result buy more games. If the playstation 3 was as well endowed with a great lineup as the 360, I'm sure those few owners would buy more.

Nice try, Xbot, but we all know the real reason why.

Valid Point. That's definitely a contributing factor.

Not a valid point most of the scratching was caused by people that where dumb enough to move a console while it was running or knock it over while it was running also the report is from 2009 its not an issue anymore or their still would be stories about it.

More diverse line-up?

You´re talking about the ps3 right??

Can you prove these statements? And I'd like facts please...no opinions, anecdotes, or testimony.

if quality would be so much better i would think people would buy even more. yes they could play the same game 20x but it sounds pretty odd to me that you buy less games if you have better games because few of them are enough then.

i think reasons could be

1. ps3 players are more likely also psp/vita players so they have/had to split their money/time for more devices

2. ps3 owners are more likely also movie fans with the blu-ray player so they maybe spend more time/money for movies

3. xbox players have more time. i once read ps3 owners are older on average which means more of them work and have already an own family and more xbox owners are students or something. ok older people have more money so it's hard to say which buy more^^

4. xbox is out longer which means people like me who own the 360 since launch buy xbox games for 7 years now. but i can only buy ps3 games for 5.5years (but i didn't own the ps3 from start)

5. xbox was not only out earlier, it also sold better compared to ps3 in the first years which means percentual, more ps3 owners have bought their console in the last years.

6. xbox is stronger as ps3 in usa, the market with the highest ratio which increases the worldwide 360 ratio more as ps3's worldwide ratio.

Nope. People buy games that interest them.

Therefore Xbox 360 gamers are more interested in the games on Xbox 360 than PS3 gamers are interested in PS3 games.

From this we can conclude that Xbox 360 owners are more active gamers than PS3 gamers.

See how easy it is to come up with B.S.?

No, no, no. The conclusion your logic reaches is that the 360 has better games than the PS3.

Have people lost their sense of humor?

Your thread gave me a good chuckle. :D

PS3 gamers buy more used games, because their console is soo asspensive they can't afford new. Because the VGC tie ratio doesn't take account of the used game market the tie ratio is low.

PS3 owners are used to, and want "free" stuff, whereas Xbox 360 owners love to throw money at any coporation who puts content on their console, as well as throwing money at theior console (XBLG). So PSN+ subscribers basically never need to buy a retail game ever because they get all their gaming satisfaction through DL (full retail) games off PSN for "free". PSN sales of full retail games are also not recorded in the tie ratio, and because there are millions of PSN+ subscribers that's millions of full retail games being DL'd ever month that are not recorded as sales.

Hence the true tie ratio, taking ito account used games and PSN+ DL's may be fairly even.

Highly doubt that since X-Box live has more full retail games online that are available for purchase.  Pretty much every retail game will end up for download on X-Box live eventually.  Not to mention that their are also more XBL arcade and indie games then other games that are not full retail on the PSN.  On top of that X-Box live has also more movies, tv shows and other forms of entertainment then the PSN.  Also PSN+ games should never enter any equation since they are free that's like me adding pirated games to the 360's picture if they would be included the 360 would crush the PS3 even more when it comes to moving software.

Note to all:

If you cannot enter the debate with a basic level of maturity, then please do not post at all. This is especially meant for those that want to bring up off-topic points to undermine my intentions.

Thank you.

Oh man.... The one and only reason is:

There is tons of playstation 3 owners that just use their console for blurays.(MOVIES)

A friends father sold me his PS3 for 100 bucks and used that money too buy a cheap bluray player and some movies.

P.S  What about  lets say   MULTIPLAT GAME 1  and 2?

More MS people buy multiplat 1 and the next good games  on both systems that comes out 1 month later is  multiplat game 2.

How do you explain this?   (360s scratched the first game so the MS fans have to buy another game?)

(P.P.S. The pro Playstation arguments are hilarious like the "much more replay value"lool If you really mean this  Then I say : It's more like boring stories you cant remember thats why you play the games again    If it was a joke than  nevermind forget what I said)
