6 PlayStation 3 (PS3) 10.74 7.31 5.71 9.88 8.66

tie ratio reveals how many units of software were sold in proportion to every console sold. It gives the average number of games that a console-owner buys.

9.88 is of course a bigger number than 8.66. With that in mind, it's clear that the X360 has a higher tie-ratio than the PS3. The question many of you may be wondering is: why? Why does the 360 have a higher tie-ratio than the PS3? Allow me to answer that question.

So, why do 360 owners buy more games than PS3 owners?  Why are X360 owners buying so many games? Let's break the question down even further....why does any console owner buy video games? Once we figure out why console owners buy video games, we can use that reasoning to discover why Xbox 360 owners are buying so many games.

Why does anyone buy video games? People buy video games to play video games, correct? Also, people play video games to satisfy their craving for entertainment. From this, we can logically deduce that people who do not have a craving for entertainment will not buy games. So, if a person is satisfied with their current entertainment intake, they will not pay for new entertainment intake. Therefore, a person's current gaming library keeps them satisfied and keeps them entertained, then they will not buy any new games. Therefore, we can assume that people buy video games because they still have a craving for entertainment, which is not beingmet. They feel a void and they need to fix it; they are not satisfied with their current library

We can logically assert that Xbox 360 owners buy more games that PS3 owners, because they are less satisfied. They are not sastisfied with their current library and thus they feel the need to go out again and again, going through game after game, never finding the game that really satisfies them. They feel a deep emptiness, and they constantly try to fill that emptiness, but they constantly fail. The Xbox's library is simply not satisfying enough. On the other hand, PS3 owners are satisfied with their games. This is proven by lower software sales. PS3 owners have the more satisfying library; they don't need to keep going out to buy new games. The games that they own are good enough.

Conclusion. PS3 owners are satisfied and do not need to keep buying new games to fulfill their craves. On the other hand, 360 owners feel a deep, extreme emptiness. It's almost like a moderate version of depression. Their games can never truly make them happy - this explains why you're more likely to meet someone shouting obscenities at you on Xbox Live, instead of on PSN. So the next time there's a 12 year-old shouting at you on Halo, don't blame the kid. It's not his fault he's unhappy. Blame Xbox. The data above clearly proves that the Xbox 360 is not the more satisfying console. On the other hand, PS3 owners are more relaxed due to more quality games. Therefore, you get less people screaming at you.

From this we can conclude that PS3 owners are happier than X360 owners. And that the PS3's library is superior to the Xbox's library. It makes perfect sense.

Objections to future rebuttals.

You are wrong, Jay. People that buy new video games aren't unsatisfied, or vice-versa. No, you are wrong, just accept. If you think I'm wrong, then think about this for a second: Imagine a game so good that you can just play that one game without even thinking about purchasing any other game. For example, some people said they played Skyrim for months straight without touching another video game. They did this because Skyrim was so good that it satisfied them for a long time. This is what most PS3 owners feel. On the other hand, imagine a game that's decent, but isn't amazing. Of course, this game isn't going to satisfy you. So of course you're going to be more likely to buy new games. Thus, I have shown you the typical behavior of an Xbox 360 owner. My theory is sound.

Using your logic, the Wii would have the best quality games and the PS2 would have one of the worst libraries of all time. Don't be silly. The Wii/PS2 are not comparable to the HD systems. The PS2 was around in a completely different time and the Wiii caters to a completely different demographic. On the other hand, the PS3 and 360 are very similar, so these comparisons are valid. Comparisons between consoles other than the PS3 & 360 are cannot be made accurately due to a variety of unknown factors.

Nope. People buy games that interest them.

Therefore Xbox 360 gamers are more interested in the games on Xbox 360 than PS3 gamers are interested in PS3 games.

From this we can conclude that Xbox 360 owners are more active gamers than PS3 gamers.

See how easy it is to come up with B.S.?

Or the 360 owners have more games that cater to the demographics that use the 360 and hence they buy more.

Your conclusion reminds me of statements like

Turtles can't fly
I can't fly
Therefore I'm a turtle

Terrible hypothesis based off flawed opinion banded about as if fact. Sure you'll get lots of replies though.

I agree. Why buy Resistance 3 when you haven't even got around to finishing the second one? Maybe us PS3 gamers are just lazy and take too long to play games.

The Xbox 360 has a higher tie ratio than PS3 in Japan?

No fucking way.

Did you just admit that your post was B.S.? If you think your own post is BS, then I'm not even going to reply seriously.

Fucking hell, really? Your trying to pull this off?

I wouldn't say that, if I had to guess more 360 owners just have more games that interest than ps3 owners. Or not it's just because more ps3 owners buy games for pc as well, maybe it's just a guess.

Also a valid point. PS3 games tend to have so much quality that people can reply them again and again without the need to buy sequels. At least not to the magnitude of Xbox 360 owners.

Other hypotheses we can deduce from that tie-ratio:
--> X360 gamers are richer than PS3 gamers
--> PS3 gamers have bigger penises than X360 gamers
--> PS3 has a more casual userbase than the X360
--> X360 gamers are more likely to die of Heart Disease than PS3 gamers
