Forums - Politics - 7 incredible personal stories about Romney that you may not know

I can also judge it by the other bullshit stories like him saving the people from drowning.  So they didn't have life jackets on a boat, they didn't know how to swim, and there were no other boats around to help (which later it states that other people were helping).  I consider this blown out of proportion.  Sure he is perhaps a nice guy or did some decent things but it isn't like he ran into a building that was on fire and saved a baby.  I am not trying to downplay entirely what he did but I am not going to act like he is some kind of hero which this story is trying to make him into.

Where did you pull those doctor quotes from?  I don't see them anywhere in the article. Okay, I see after clicking on three different links.  So she was overdosing not having withdrawals.  You see words matter a lot especially when it comes to drugs.  So she was overdosing in another teen's basement who apparently didn't have any adult supervision.  Perhaps if she and her friend weren't so stupid they would have at least went to the hospital.  So don't try and  jump on me when the article is poorly written.  There is a big difference between overdose and withdrawal.  Now, I am expecting you to tell me that the people on the boat that were about to "drown" were all limbless.

How does there being other boats around change the story? Does saving a life suddenly not count because someone else would have done it? "I'd thank you for pulling me out of the water, but it's expected, and someone else would have if you didn't." Point is, he and his sons didn't leave it for someone else to do, they saw someone in need and rushed out to help them. That's the takeaway from the story.

That's not why it doesn't count. It doesn't count because only society can do good things. Romney was acting out an individualistic, self-aggrandizing power fantasy, trying to be like his hero John Galt. Those people would be better off dead than having been saved by the likes of him. Also, something about white privilege and boats.

Wow, reading this thread really shows how unbelievably one-eyed both sides are in American Politics just now.

Nobody seems capable of taking a step back; of listening to the other side; of accepting that EVERYBODY has the best of intentions for their country; of trying to identify the many areas where both sides can agree and work together; and of trying to come to some accommodation on areas where they don't agree.

Is that too much to ask of grown-ups?

Whoops wrong guy.

Personally I just want the least competent president for America. The problem I have is that I cannot decide who will screw up more, An obstructed Obama or a Mitt Romney actually going through with the GOP agenda.

Tease.

Romney wouldn't be any less obstructed.

The Democrats have more then enough seats to block, and have a decent shot to maintain hold on the senate now that "Women who get raped can't get preagnant" stayed in the race.
