So I'll play devils advocate and repost these, to show that clear graphical leaps are possible and very doable at the start of a generation. Anyone saying this leap isn't significant is flat out lying! (come at me d21lewis, come at me)

Don't forget that these first HD 360 titles are of course rendering at a much higher resolution than their SD counterparts. I expect 'next gen' games to still be running mostly 720p, leaving more of that new power for graphical effects etc.

Kameo when it was releasing on Xboxhuge:

Kameo on Xbox 360:

And offscreen:

Difference being Xbox - Xbox 360 was one of the largest leaps between gens.

WiiU is only, like, a 3x/4x jump.

from what console? wiiu is at least 7 or 8 times better than the wii.

From PS360 obviously.

where did you see that?

I'm basing it on rumours, speculation and leaked specs sheets.

Well...the launch titles have proven the Wii U is going to be behind when the other next gen consoles launch. Again...graphics aren't exactly a representative of what Nintendo stands for. They are the opposite of what the PC/360/PS3 is all about. They want want to get the same third parties to endear themselves to that loyal core fanbase that they lack, but they are still Nintendo. They know they will need more and Ubisoft did the first job for them.

I want f-zero on the wii u, come on ninty this has to happen

Nowhere in my post did I say WiiU would be as powerful as PS4/720, but the gap will be nowhere as large as PS360 - Wii.

Also, the launch titles don't prove anything about the power of WiiU.

I love the fact that you slap [citation needed] on a console that everyone is talking about it's potential specs atm but you know the exact specs of 2 machines which haven't even been announced yet? where did you get those specs you are going by?

Hell yes. I would so play these games. This console is reminding me of Nintendos catalogue for the N64 already.

Epic expects that the new consoles (720/PS4) will be fully scalable to Unreal Engine 4. None of the consoles out are and if they are fully scalable to all of the new engines, the Wii U is going to get the short end of the stick when it comes to multiplats, its common sense really if you put all the pieces together. The Wii U is more powerful than current consoles but only by a bit compared to what Epic is expecting from Nintendos competition. I dont care though because I am not buying the Wii U for socializing or graphical competition, its Nintendo. I will buy it for the exclusives. Nintendo has been my secondary console for years and I think its time I buy one eventually this gen as I skipped them this gen for my own reasons.

I understand you basing the possible specs of the new consoles based on what epic would like to see but until microsoft and sony actually put their cards on the table you can only guess what they might have, Xbox could go more heavy into Kinect and kinect based stuff and Sony could go nuts with wonderbook and move stuff, I'm not saying those things will happen or that I believe it would... well I do think Kinect will be all over the nextbox but doubt sony will do much more with move or wonderbook anyways.

As for avoiding nintendo this generation, do you mean the wii/ds or just the wii? there are some incredibly good games to be had on that system that you'd only ever get to play on it (or via backwards compatibility in the wiiu or via dolphin on the pc) The wii itself is fairly class too in it's perfect backwards compatibility with the GC and in some of the stuff that the homebrew and hacking community have done with the system, I was playing gran turismo 2 last night on mine :D felt.... so very wrong.

as for the DS, did you skip that too? I think for EBA, rhythm heaven and picross 3d that lil machine has eaten far too much of my bathroom time :D

Well the console with the most longevity based on game creation is Sony. Microsoft is barely doing anything and still selling (aka the power of marketing). The way Sony and Microsoft have been at it they will make their systems fully scalable but on par-near PC by 2-3 years. Thats how this gen started. I avoided the Wii if thats what you're asking. No reason for me to buy it, i'll just BC the choice handful of games later.
