This is irrelevant, because we don't even know how many units were actually sold. I'm assuming it's around 1.5 million though, which is great. Anyway, what we should be celebrating is the fact that it's projected to sell 58 MILLION UNITS in 2012 alone! (source is Bloomberg)

Probably couldn't find more students to work for Foxconn so the stock was rather limited.

Personally I wouldn't buy an Apple product, because I don't like the closed nature of their ecosystem, but you just can't deny that Apple carefully build a well earned reputation of consumer friendly interfaces and functions that make technology enjoyable. That won't dimish that easily over a product that is evolutionary and not revolutionary in nature.

It's not that surprising. You could probably hand a lot of those people a 4S, tell them it's a 5 and they'd be happy.

Not too surprising, even in a recession people still manage to throw money at something!
