and like Mad55 said he went to Best Buy, and he must have went recently, and they still had some. Maybe they still have some in store? or is there not a Best Buy close to you? Maybe you could call them?
UK's the only place where it hasn't sold out
Could be because it only went on sale today morning as retailers took AAAAGES to get the RRP right.
That's a good and bad sign. It was just announced (practically) and it has already sold out, so that means that people are taking a big notice and really liking it.
But the bad news is that Nintendo must speed up production and that could result in some issues with malfunctions, also with cranky customers not being able to get their Wii U for several months since its sold out.

It also seems you British people have increasingly gone to the dark side! The horror!!
It's only the middle of September. They have a month to get a better handle on production capacity. Right now they're probably just going with a conservative estimate of what they can manufacture. I'm sure pre-orders will be back up again after awhile.
I just wonder if there is ever going to be resolution between Nintendo and Amazon.

It's not sold out in the UK gaming stores yet

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Ebay sellers will have fun with this launch.
Let them make the most of it, not sure if 720/PS4 will be sell outs. 720 might be.
