Forums - Gaming - Gamers bombard Platinum Games with hate-filled messages over Bayonetta 2 on Wii U

it sounds kinda bad to say this, but if those people on twtter who threatened to kill themselves because nintendo funded a game that had been canned actually went ahead and done it.... would that be a really bad thing? :

The kind of thing that makes one want to believe Evolution is actually true.

Then again, it probably is true in a sense. The stupidest are prone to dumber actions, one being taking away one's life for something as material as a video game.

Hey nintendo fans, sega just did you guys a good solid. You all should return the favor and support this game once it is launched on the WiiU, but also, it would be even better for saga if you Nintendo fans went out and bought B1 on the Xbox or PS3 and actually play it.

Other than that, it was a pretty ahole move by sega to make a multiplat game exclusive to one console, that's like FIFA 14 going exclusive to ps3, fans of part 1 have a right to be angry, they deserved a part 2 on their console of choice after all the time and money they spent on part 1, not good customer appreciation sega.

And why did you need Nintendo to publish the game, sega is a 3 party publisher?
Nintendo did this so they can own the rights to the game,no wonder sega is struggling, they just sold out a promising cash cow.

Anyhow Sony fans have GOW, so they are covered, but 360 fans got the short end of the stick here, they loved B1 and from the looks of it they won't have a good beat em up to look forward to anytime soon.

The twitter complaints are too childish, but the complaints are valid.

This is how you please a fanbase and make yourself liked, Nintendo.

The haters didn't like Nintendo before, nor where they going to buy the Wii U so it's not like Nintendo is losing something here. All in all this will end up well for them as a lot of fans of Bayonetta, and Platinum games in general, will support their console.

Building further hate is not how you win customers, should not just ignore haters because you are ignoring a huge part of the market, should be winning them over.  Nintendo should be getting multiplats while pumping out quality first party hardcore titles, not just Mario or Zelda and other mainstream casual stuff but there own versions of games like Bayonetta.

That way fans of Bayonetta will not hate them even more and instead see other games like Bayonetta that can potentially change their minds on Wii

please, your statement is borderline riduculous, you actually think that these people are going to be won over with that strategy, who absolutely hate Nintendo.  That would be like getting a hardcore democrat to vote for Romney.  Their gone, waaaayyy gone.  Nintendo has done the one thing all these whiners told them to do and then they get flamed by the same people.  They were never fans to begin with, although we should all tip our hats toward Nintendo, because it seems more people are now interested in the Wii U than before.  The minority of people are the ones who are being the loudest while the majority are just enjoying.

They think all 3rd parties are bound to keep their games exclusive to your console of choice?

Many of those might be the same who laughed their arses out when Nintendo lost the Final Fantasy franchise exclusivity back in the Play Station days.

Many of probably were too young to play video-games.

Mildly offtopic and is sure not to derail anything! But you don't believe in the concept of evolution? But aye indeed, people who are that shallow and pointless basically, not really doing much for us as a race, wouldn't really want our first contact with off world life to have one of those guys represent us, then have them approach the alien race to find that aliens adopted chinese so they could be understood by the most people on earth and our ambassador shoots himself in the head because the aliens went exclusively with another language.

Lets get something straight. I have NOTHING against Nintendo and don't blame them. I blame SEGA. Also as long as nintendo uses friend codes it shouldn't have M rated games imo and I actually like Nintendo. But point is This Makes No Sense. FF was not at all the same situation. This was turned wii u exclusive because SEGA cut the production and canclled a bunch of games, and SEGA was dumb enough to cancel this. Which Nintendo chose to publisb after. Final Fantasy jumped Ship because Sony had a new Platform that just came out firstly. Nintendo 64 was impossible to get FFVII onto. Look it up and Sonys PS1 was perfect fit for it because of the CDs. So they kept it sony from there and even rereleased older games onto the console. N64 was the original platform for FFVII but failed to work out. That was all it is. This was SEGA being dumb, which is why this is a issue.

No, this is an issue because the fanboys in OP are being dumb.

The FFVII situation is a good example because we were all butthurt, but we understood the reasons, it just made sense. To say it was impossible is a crazy statement. Nothing is impossible, if they made FFVI on the SNES they surely could make VII on a more powerful console. So "impossible" is a big word. Maybe their vision was impossible, but the game itself wasn't if they changed their vision to fit the hardward (let's say, if the N64 was the only console to exist at the time). I'm not advocating for it, I just disagree with your saying it was impossible, especially stated like that.

The fanboys in OP don't understand why Nintendo deserves the exclusivity of this game due to everything you explain, and that's the real issue. Sega letting go of Bayonetta is their pre-rogative, it's not an issue, there are probably reasons why they chose that route. The real issues again are the fanboys in OP. Big issue. They are the plague of our industry.

What you said doesn't make sense. You clearly don't know the FFVII situation, because it you knew it, you would know the game was being made exclusively for N64 already, which is basically like N64 was the only choice for it, because until that point they only liked releasing for nintendo. FFVII was a exclusive being made for Nintendo 64 until they hit the cartidge Limitations and realized there was NO possible way to release it on N64. So they were originally going to cancel but then ended up using PS as the platform because it was possible on PS. No matter what FFVII could never be released as even half the game it was on Nintendo 64 because of the cartridge, so Yes it was impossible. Even now they still couldn't do it. I remember reading about it and they said, the game couldn't even fit what was even one disc worth of data on it and Nintendo wasn't doing anything for them.

You're the one with the double standard. What if this game would have been Vita exclusive, would you argue the same way?

I've made no double standard, if going to throw around silly accusations and least have them be truthful.  What you are suggesting is like when Valkyria Chronicles jumped ship from PS3 to PSP.  I loved VC, one of my fav games this gen.  I wasn't going to to go buy a PSP just for the sequel though and if anything it just turned me off the series with SEGA doing that to VC fans, and I don't even hate the PSP like some Bayonetta fans clearly hate the WiiU.   I'm not the only VC fan who feels that way.

That was different, because it was clear any VC game on the PSP was going to be lower budget/lower production values (which was most of their reason for doing it, alongside the fact that the PSP was more viable in VC's main market, Japan), which means that the second and third games were lesser games than they could have been.

The double standard (which i haven't seen from you specifically, but from this situation in general) is that when Nintendo gets multiplats, people are all "meh, why buy for the Wii U when you can just get it elsewhere?" but when Nintendo gets an exclusive (and lets be honest here, Bayonetta 2 is pretty damn low on the totem pole for exclusives Nintendo could steal) it's all "suicide" and "this isn't how you make fans, Nintendo."

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I am aware of all of that. If you re-read my post, you'll see that it fits. I love how you're so quick to think I don't know, when I know much more than you think, probably more than you even know. FFVII's jump to the PS is the reason why I'm on this forum.
