Haven't Epic, Crytek and Square asked for lot of RAM in next-gen? I somehow have a feeling that at least one of console makers listened to them...

2gb is a lot of ram for a console. 8gb is overkill. Console OS don't require nearly as much ram as Windows and MacOS do. They're closer to the Linux level of memory usage. Why would they need more ram than the average desktop pc?

HDD space fits your needs. For many, 8 or 32GBis fine. For digital downloaders like me, I'll spend $50 on a 1TB USB HDD and have way more space than I should ever need. OR for others... a 64GB SDHC SD card for $30 or so is perfect.
Basically, this is the perfect solution vs being forced to spend $50 to $100 more up front on the console when you may never need that space.

Other systems will have AT MAX 4GB or shared ram for everything. Wii U is overall just fine, in fact memory space is the one thing no dev has leaked as being anything but massive.

Yeah, it's great how Nintendo does it wonderfully. Since I have HDDs laying around I can throw into a USB enclosure and bam I have extra space without having to pay insane prices like with the xbox 360. And I can use a 3.5 drive or a 2.5 drive unlike the ps3 where you're limited to a 2.5 laptop drive.
The GPGPU thing sounds really interesting.
This is really top-notch and because. A GPGPU can do many calculations much faster than a CPU and a perfect fit for a console.
What I really like with the Wii and the WiiU is that the consoles basically launch as slim versions. Small silent and efficient.
Hooked up to my 50watt LED projector and I am happy :)
Energy providers here are ripping people off so It's good that this thing needs half the power of my Laptop lol.
EDIT: Oh I forgot I dont even need the projector unless I play multiplayer or games that need both screens.
