Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil 6 Anthology On PS3 Or Resident Evil 6: Archives On Xbox 360 – Which Is The Better Deal?

When Resident Evil 6 launches on October 2nd, it will be accompanied by two different special editions in the form of Resident Evil 6 Anthology on PS3 and Resident Evil 6 Archives on Xbox 360. Both of these will retail for $89.99 and they include quite a few different Resident Evil games (and even a movie) along with them. For those of you who own both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and want to know which is the better deal, we break it down for you.

Contents:

Resident Evil 6 Archives (Xbox 360):

  • Resident Evil 6 (2 discs) – $59.99
  • Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (XBL) – $29.99
  • Resident Evil 4 HD (XBL) – $19.99
  • Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X HD (XBL) – $19.99
  • Resident Evil: Degeneration Movie (DVD) – Free on Netflix/$10 on Xbox Live
  • Total Value: $140

Resident Evil 6 Anthology (PS3):

  • Resident Evil 6 – $59.99
  • Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (PSN) – $29.99
  • Resident Evil 4 HD (PSN) – $19.99
  • Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PSN) – $5.99
  • Resident Evil 2 (PSN) – $5.99
  • Resident Evil: Director’s Cut (PSN) – $9.99
  • Total Value: $132

Verdict:

Though the PlayStation 3 version gives you $8 less value, it is the better one to go for. You’ll be able to experience two additional Resident Evil games over the Xbox 360 version, Resident Evil 1, 2, and are all PSP/PlayStation Vita compatibleResident Evil 5: Gold Edition comes with Move support, and you aren’t given the very disappointing Degeneration movie.

While Xbox 360 owners may receive Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X HD, it can be purchased on the PlayStation Network for $19.99, whereas Xbox 360 owners don’t even have access to Resident Evil 1 – 3. So if you happen to own both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Resident Evil 6 Anthology on PS3 is the much better deal because it gives you a more complete Resident Evil experience.

I'll probably be getting the PS3 version when it goes cheap, this is a great jump start for someone that's never played a RE game.

Capcom screwed up soo much on this, why did they have to make the two versions different.

Obviously the PS3 version is better since you get access to all of the mainline games, the 360 version just has the Code Veronica X which is the only thing that the PS3 version is gonna lack.

The Degeneration movie....I'm pretty sure everyone has it or seen it by now >_>.

I'll be getting the PS3 version for sure in the future, just hope this isnt much of a limited release ;x.

im assuming sony had some kind of exclusivity deal with the first three resident evils when they came out considering they aren't even on XBLA. Capcom tried to balance it out. Personally I think they should have just included everything in the ps3 version and made the 360 version $10 cheaper.

Imma say code veronia deal is better on 360 considering there's achievements and it looks much better than 1-3 idk that's how im thinking right now lol.

I say PS3 version since you basically get all the mainline games....

i would go for ps3 as i like the old resident evil games more than the newer ones.

In a weird twist of fate the ps3 version is perfect for people who have never played RE, but at the same time people who have never played RE would never buy it.

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

How come none of them include Resident Evil 0? I'm pretty sure that's a mainline game. Also the PS3 edition is obviously better.

360 because you get 3 discs and everyone know physical > digital.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Code Veronica can be purchased on PS3.

RE 1, 2 & 3 cannot be purchased on 360.

PS3 deal wins by a country mile....... besides..... RE 1, 2 & 3>>> CV.

A movie VS two games?

Come on now, who do Capcom think they are selling this GAME to?
