Yep from what Im hearing PS2 is going out and Wii is moving into the browsers while Wii U will be put on the walls where Wii would have normally been.

PSP will be moving out of stores soon as well its already been removed from some locations. Gotta make room for next-gen

Wow, PS2, I'm in awe.

At my Gamestop, we already got rid of PS2 and PSP games, but still have a GameCube section.

It's about as big as the Vita section.

The PS2´s lasting power is simply amazing..12 years!

To be brutally honest...it's about time.

Probably not. I think Sony is really the only one committed enough to its hardware to pull something like that off.

Who knows though, the other two might also change if there found themselves in that position (again, for the case of Nintendo, last time was the NES).

I think so, devs included. 

I have nothing against the PS2, but sometimes things just need to be dropped and forgotten about. Now is that time.

It really is amazing how PS2 still sells to this day.
I still can find it pretty much everywhere with a good presence in stores.
