Forums - Sales - why american prefer 360 to PS3?

With XBox Live being so popular, it pushes other people in gaming groups to buy a XBox 360, atleast I know this is why many of my friends moved from Playstation to XBox.

This is very true, and also why many call Xbox Live Microsoft's "Trojan Horse". Most people that game on Xbox Live are past the phase of "come over and let's play "insert game name here". Xbox Live give's everyone the conveinience of playing with their friends without leaving the comfort of their homes.

There are 2 360's in my house so me and my cousin can play against/with each other in multiplayer games. Who want's to play split screen anymore?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

over hyped halo
ps3 is expinsive and came too late
ps3 has nothing better to offer
people dont learn that pc is > 360
microsoft count repairs and shipments as sales
its an american system

I think it's mostly because it has so much FPS's.

It's weird but all my friends who prefer 360 over PS3, prefer PS2 over Xbox.

Halo.
XBOX-Live = best Online service gaming has to offer.
Bigger selection of AAA games for 360.
More 3rd party support for 360.
Cheaper console.
Better visuals than or equal to PS3 games.(right now)

this is why I think Americans like 360

Marketing, and because in the end, it's a good system.

While I prefer the PS3, mainly because I am a techno geek, the 360 does its job well.

Oh, and also the graphics. When it came out, the closest thing to in graphically was the PS2/Xbox. It blows those two away.

When the PS3 came out, it was compared to the 360, and while it’s better graphically then the 360, the delta is a lot smaller then what the 360 was compared against.

Because Sony fails to make people think owning a PS3 is a cool thing. No peer pressure, no sales. That's how the business runs in USA.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Maybe North Americans have less brand loyalty? I can't help but wonder how many people bought a Sony Playstation 3 simply because of the Playstation name rather than the system on it's own merits.

Oh and I think the system has some good exclusives out now, I'm talking about when it basically only had one or two good exclusives out.

The US had a lot of XBox users, I think after the XBox's early and total demise people upgraded en masse.

Also a lot of misinformation and unreasonable Sony hate and Microsoft love in the US press.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Simply the game library is superior... I don't think a game console should be chosen for any other reason.

As for comments about RRoD and Live... I've been enjoying live problem free for three years now... How many games have come out on the other consoles that advertised online and didn't deliver the goods... 360 delivered and at 10,000,000 gaming users most services world wide would have trouble too. As for RRoD... Microsoft has $1.1 Billion set aside to fix the issue... Make sure you buy a 175W 360 and your won't have a problem.
