I'm probably the biggest Apple supporter on this site, and I think it should NOT be moderated the same way console trolling is moderated. I don't give a crap when people troll apple, because I find it quite fascinating talking to them and finding out why they have such a deep hatred for Apple.

Besides, I think console trolling as a whole is moderated too harshly at the moment, so I'd hate to see that translate to Apple too.

Nah, that goes to Rocketpig. I'm pretty sure he'd disagree with you.

@Otacon. That's probably why it's hard to not read a lot of uninteresting comments there too.

One question I wanted to ask you guys, how should Apple trolling be taken on the forums? Should it be moderated to the same rules as the other companies, or should we be a little more relaxed on this?

I don't really care about product bashing in general.  It is when things go farther and people start calling other people names for being fans of those products/companies that bothers me.

What also bothers me is that sometimes, it goes unnoticed because people use the terms without necessarily pointing at someone directly.  Like saying "Blind Nintendo fanboys will get the Wii U  day one." I'm not calling anyone a fanboy directly, but many will take offense at it, since they consider themselves fans of Nintendo, and indeed, will get the Wii U day one...  Many times, I see that kind of thing go without moderation, and it's kind of annoying.  Some posters in here are relying on those poor methods as a be all end all way of getting some illusionary upper hand in a debate/conversation, and it annoys the crap out of me.

I don't see any difference between calling someone a Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft fantard/fanboy, or telling them that they wear "insert dev name" goggles, and calling an Apple fan an iSheep or any such names.

The meaning is the same for all of those. And people relying on name calling arn't really helping discussions to remain civil in the slightest.

The only problem here is that hating on Apple seems to be socially acceptable on VGChartz, and wasn't really moderated before. Of course, this opinion will count towards the eventual decision

Crush it. Stamp it out.

i couldnt agree more Hynad
stealth trolling is never moderated, and its common practice here...

Huh? You agree that Apple trolling should be more heavily moderated AND your name is 'DieAppleDie'?

LOL, that doesn't bode well for you then, does it?

The moderation team on vgchartz.com has allways been a a fair and nonsubjective bunch.
I commend each and everyone of them as fine human beings and have never seen them make a single mistake.
I'm happy seeing this fine group of people working so well together.
I applaud you.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

...should EA trolling be moderated?

nah, the forums would be empty

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

arent roms legal if you own an original copy of the game?

I'm not 100% sure about it but I've heard conflicting things on the internet about whether they are legal or not if you rip them from your own cartridge, but I still think that it is considered illegal to make yourself a "backup copy".

I believe it is legal to make a digital backup of a game which you are allowed to use on an emulator. Emulators are also legal.

I'm not quite sure about downloading ROMs though. I've heard it's ok to download a ROM if you own the original game and I've also heard that some ROMs are free to play.
