It's just the lawsuit I'm unhappy about, because there exists prior art and Apple didn't invent anything it does.

Oh and iTunes still sucks.

The good: they are possibly the only electronics company that gets they are not making tech, they are making part of a customers' life; and so their customer service, packaging, first turn on experience, consistent design decisions, limiting the number of products sold, good support of older devices, etc, are all without immediate profit in mind.

And because of that they are insanely profitable. The companies that try and screw people barely break even. There is a huge lesson there for the world.

I have a gs2. Sony hardware is overpriced too but not as much as Apple. The latest Retina macbook is over 2000 euros while a comparable Sony Vaio Z ultrabook with a 1080p IPS screen is 1000 euros less. I'm sorry but having those extra pixels dont justify a premium of €1K.

You've seen this trend that hate groups are more annoying than the subjects of their hate? Hipsters and anti-hipsters? Well the same goes for Apple.

Edit: The veredict, and the subsecuent petiiton to ban Samsung products is just wrong. And the bigger problem is that I think I won't be able to tolerate Apple hatters ranting.

I love apple products. They are the best tech products around IMO. People complain about the price, but tbh they are cheap considering how great they are in comparison to competitor products. (samsung, blackberry)

I've got an iPod, iPhone and an iPad 2. I love them all, especially my iPad...I never set it down....I even take it into the shower with me...

Oh yeah, and yesterday my mum got an iPad 3!

I'm a fan of Nintendo's handheld games. You can't go for five minutes on a Tech website before hearing about how iOS devices are about to kill Nintendo forever. This, whenever I think of Apple, the first thing to come to mind is "Nintendocidal."

I know, it's not fair, but it has an impact on my gut reactions.

2) Apple's products cost FAR more than they are worth.

Normally I agree with you on stuff like this.

But, value is what people are willing to pay. And in the case of Apple they have brought the VALUE of the product up much higher than the price. So much so that people seem to have unlimited money for iPads while claiming they don't have enough money to buy a cinema ticket.

The value of each component added together is much less than an iPhone. But the iPhone as designed by a normal company with the same parts would suffer on build quality, software inconsistency, raw edges visible throughout the user experience in software and hardware and even in just fighting with the plastic sheath it comes in. The iPhone does what people want it to do and for sure it's lacking in "features" but that is not why the mass market even buys phones. They buy them to phone, text, email, browse the internet, listen to music and take quick photos. And Apple makes each of those things a near perfect experience. If you want to do more it's limiting, but people don't. The lack of manual focus on the camera says everything about why Apple does what it does.

The amazing part is that this value is not a result of 'cheating'. The advertising isn't misleading, there's no weak area you discover in 6 months that'll get to you, and it's not selling on image alone.

Apple don't even care that you aren't a customer, because they aren't targeting you. It's a miracle of capitalism that the shareholders haven't pushed Apple to sell their products to "everyone" because ultimately that would devalue the item or defocus the goal of the product (in your case).

tl;dr Apple are doing it right but it's not for everyone.

Okay, one thing I do want to mention is I'm tired of the "Inferior HW at a higher price" thing.

Okay, I'm no tech wizard and I hardly care about power, but I'd take iPhone's intuitive and easy to use design than Android's clunky and unfriendly interface any day. MacBook Pro is expensive, but I adore it. It's really intuitive and easy to use, the programs and Apps work amazingly well. I think it's good for people that can spend a little more.

I dont hate them and have never been negative to them. Personally apple does not register in my sphere - I have never owned an apple product be it an ipod, iphone or mac pc and probably never will till the day I die.

to be fair, I agree with much of this.  Apple has improved much since Jobs "went" and that will continue hopefully.

One thing I really hate on a daily basis is iTunes... shite piece of software, it is so crashingly bad its unbelievable they dont realise it and start again.

Yeah I use it from time to time to sync my Iphone 4 and can't stand it. I remember how I found Zune software so refreshing once I got a Zune in like 2007, thanks to iTunes suckage.  Today I'd much rather do without Zune as well (thankfully Windows 8 phones won't use it).

Apple really needs to deliver with iPhone 5 and iOS 6 though. It's about time they pushed the bar again...
